To me, it is more fun to collect cheap games so I guess I gotta go w/ PS2. I kinda prefer actually playing games for GameCube though.
Now, when you say "collect" the console that comes to mind is the Gamecube, simply because the games are becoming incrreasingly harder to find and more expensive. Within ten years or so finding gamecube games in the wild will probably be pretty rare. However, if by collect you simply meant "to play" then I would easily go with the PS2. The Gamecube was my least favorite Nintendo console... but then again I havn't really loved Nintendo since SNES although N64 came close at times.
Anyways though, PS2 games are cheaper, easier to find, and you have a MUCH larger choice of games.
No question, the PS2. Way more worthwhile games, cheaper to collect for, and easier to get started collecting for.
This is probably the reason I will collect ps2 games, especially since there are so many at gamestop for low pricesTo me, it is more fun to collect cheap games so I guess I gotta go w/ PS2. I kinda prefer actually playing games for GameCube though.

They're both cheap and easy to collect for. But if I had to choose, I'd easily say the PS2. The Gamecube does have a very good library, but PS2's library is just so much larger and more diverse.
PS2 has the volume and is definitely easier to locate still.. Gamecube (like original XBox of late) seem to command more for games that were ported to all 3 systems.
I personally prefer collecting for the Gamecube, however, I would say it's better to collect for PS2 because of the massive library of amazing games. I don't acutally have a PS2 so I don't collect for it but PS2 is home to a lot of games you would have to otherwise buy more than 1 system for.
Not to mention it survived into 7th gen aswell.
