My four favorites in order, are:
Megaman Zero
Megaman Battle Network
The first few Megaman X games and Maverick Hunter X
Megaman & Bass
My favorite Is probably the X series! :)
the only other series I like are the classic megamen games and both the ZX games...
I liked the X series the best.
oh and Abandon, that would be AWESOME If megaman became a first person shooter. probably the best idea ive ever read on this site ever.summer_star17x
it would probably be somthing fresh.really cool.why dont developers read these threads.

It's nice to see so many vote for MMX.
The Mega Man X series is easily the best. It took everything I loved about classic Mega Man from when I was really young and revamped it. The graphics, characters, and story are all really interesting. The music is another aspect that X has over classic MM. One of the absolute best pieces of music ever in a video game is Zero's Theme from the SNES version of MMX3.
I've actually enjoyed all of the MMX games, even more than the classic ones. As much as I'd love to see Mega Man X9, I'd love to see Capcom make MMX: Command Mission 2. Command Mission is a better RPG style MM game than Legends is. The story, characters, and gameplay are all really good. I'd do almost anything for a sequel to it.
Mega Man 2 is a fantastic game.
But the first Mega Man X is probably my favorite platformer of all time.
I was a huge fan of the original NES series, finished 1-3 time and again.
Subsequent attempts to replay them as an adult have shown me that I was considerably more hardcore as a kid.
Personally, I LOVED the first few games in the X series, but it fell apart very quickly. I also loved the Legends or "Dash" series, but there were only two in that one.
The best one, then, has to be the classic series. Mega Man 2 and 3 were fantastic, and if the worst things you can say about 4-6 is that they were just like MM3, then you're doing okay. :) Mega Man 7 and 8 were horrible, however, but it still fares better than the X series, which was gawdawful by the time we got to X5.
I'm gonna have to give it to the classic NES Mega Man games. Mega Man 2 was my first video game that I owned, I got it when I was 4 years old and still play it from time to time to this day. Mega Man X was amazing, X2-X4 were pretty good, but everything after was pretty much garbage. I also really enjoyed Mega Man Legends.
