Vice City for me . or i would say Grand theft auto 4 (including the expansions) great story and cool how they all connect .Why didn't you include Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories and Lost and Damned-Ballad of Gay Tony (they are two separate games but are sold in a package and I think also individually).
Also GTA 2 was only for pc?

I've never played 1 or 2 (or even seen anyone play them). I've beaten 3, Vice City, San Andreas, Liberty City Stories and Vice City stories. I have 4 but am still playing it. So I can't make any judgments so far.
4 has the best graphics but it has the crappiest music so far (or maybe I haven't listened to the songs enough I usually turn the radio off).
I liked San Andreas and Vice City especially, I liked all the ones I played however.
My favorites in the series are :
1) GTA IV - I love this game & it's expansions to death. I love the realism in the physics, the beautiful world, the combat/cover system, and the way the stories blend together with the main game & expansions. Overall, this is my second favorite game of all time (behind "Castlevania : Symphony of the Night").
2) GTA : San Andreas - Another game I absolutely love to death. This game has a huge world to explore, so many diverse missions, so many great characters, a great setting/story, and an awesome soundtrack. I'd love to see this game be re-done using GTAIV's engine, that would be stellar.
3) GTA : Vice City - My first ever GTA game. I love the 80's setting, the characters, and the soundtrack. While I enjoy going back and playing older games, it's a lot harder going back and playing certain "3D" games. This one has not aged well imo. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy playing it, but would love it much more if they'd at least update it to the standards of GTA:SA.
4) GTA Vice City Stories/Liberty City Stories - Own both on PS2, still haven't played much of them, but they seem really good. I'm excited to play through these two games.
5) GTA III - Much like Vice City, this game hasn't aged too well. Still a lot of fun to play, but just seems to plain. Still, a classic game that I'll be a fan of for ever.
Haven't played the rest of the series, so I won't comment on the others.

This. Large world, tons of vehicles, tons of weapons and tons of stuff to do. Agree with you guys. So much to do and see. Top notch voice acting from great actors as well. The real Question is what city in SA was the best? Los Santos, San Fierro, Los Venturas. OFr me Los Venturas and its surrounding country side[QUOTE="Bigboi500"]Agree with you guys. I enjoyed San Andreas for PC the most overall although the combat in GTA IV was the best.
GTA San Andreas is the best imo, the area was huge, and there was so much activities and custimization options, I was slightly disappointed with GTA IV in that aspect.
Vice city, it truly managed to capture the 80's lifestyle, even though San Andreas was bigger and you could do much, the ghetto gangsta style of the game didn't do it for me. I couldn't really care about San Andreas music yet i loved every bit of it in Vice City .
Ive played them all (playing Vice City now), and I'm having a blast. The quests seem more addictive/difficult in VC. There are some quests in VC that you have to do 20+ times to pass -- where in GTA IV, and GTA 3, I was able to get by many of the quests in only a few tries.
Methinks most people were turned off by the 80s theme.Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is easily my favorite.
Every element in it was pure fun.

Methinks most people were turned off by the 80s theme. Pretty sure that more people were turned off by the gangster rap theme of San Andreas. I remember that being an issue on the forums when the game came out.[QUOTE="lordreaven"]This. Large world, tons of vehicles, tons of weapons and tons of stuff to do. This too. I had lots of fun exploring San Fierro, their parody of the city I was born in. Love seeing the GTA versions of all the SF landmarks Ive been to a bunch of times.GTA: SA, best in series
