Which Spyro the Dragon platformer is the best?

I have fond memories of playing the original on the PS1 and Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly on the Gamecube.

Never played spyro 3 but the first two in the original trilogy were great though I do have stronger bias the 1st ...having played it as a kid I could never think it would get any better ,it was pretty mind blowing ... another series that could be considered the chef's kiss would be The Legacy of Kain (especially the soul reader spin offs)

I did play the original games on PS1, I never played beyond Year of the Dragon and I played Reignited Trilogy last year so I can only go by the trilogy set and say I like Ripto's Rage and back on PS1. And even platform games back on PS1, none of them didn't have the charm to anywhere closer to other games like Banjo/Kazooie or anything that came for N64. Still, I always prefer Spyro games than Crash.

Never played a Spyro game to give an honest answer, cannot say why, just have not.

Typically enjoy 3D 'collectathon' Platformers though. Tearaway and the launch PS5 Astrobot: Playroom.

Also never played a Crash Bandicoot game either. I'd probably have a good time playing one though.
