Agreed. I got a warm tingling feeling on the inside kicking his useless ass at the end.
That being said, I find that about half of all RPGs have a character that is pretty useless/so much worse than everyone else that they're not worth using. In FF IV, it's Edward, the worthless bard. FF VI, I always found Relm and Umaro pretty useless (I also found Gau useless, but that's more because I didn't like using him because I though his storyline was bland and worthless. I have a friend who would say Kimahri in FF X fits the same bill in that game as Gau does for me).
In the Dragon Ball Z Budokai fighting games, anyone who can't fly (*cough* Videl *cough* Hercule) is pretty damn worthless...why even put them in the game if they're going to be so underpowered compared to the other characters? Makes random character assignment not that much fun.
There are probably pleeeenty of others, but I don't feel like trying to think of all of them. Plus, I only find some useless because I hate their storyline/character, and that's not really what this question was going for.
