I play Virtua Fighter 5 on occasion. In my opinion, it's the best 3D fighting series out there. Although other 3D fighting games have their strengths and weaknesses, none can compare to what Virtua Fighter does for me. It's a deep, complex fighting game that requires you to have patience and be technical. The more time you put into it, the better you'll be and the rewards are satisfying. Like with any fighting game I've played, not a single fight plays out the same way twice, it's always new and it certainly keeps you on your toes. I don't think that I've VF5 as broken either...I'm not sure about any of the past installments, but I don't think they were broken either. Virtua Fighter 5 is well-balanced and suited to my liking. Like you, I hope they bring Final Showdown to console or, if anything, wait for Virtua Fighter 6 to drop.
Nice to see that there is still some Virtua Fighter love out there. I just hope more will come to play too. We need to keep the hope alive. shabulia
The casual fanbase don't like the VF series, unfortunately. Just the hardcore fans, such as myself and you, I would imagine.
Oh, my poor friend. You are missing out. I suggest you try it again. While I am happy to see you acknowledge it for its greatness, I suggest you play it and give the depth another shot. Pick one character (Jacky or Eileen are perfect for beginners) and play through their move sets in the Dojo. Then, move on to Quest Mode and hone your skills. Stick to only one character until you have won most of your matches. Then, once you have grown beyond them, choose another. It's deep and does take time, but not as much as you might think. Pai is another choice. She is good to learn but difficult to master. She's my current favorite. Once you customize your character and make him/her your own, you won't want to put the controller down.I tried to get into the VF series, but it's too deep for me. Plus I dont have the time to put into it. Great game.

I, myself, love Virtua Fighter 5 and dearly hope that Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown finds its way to consoles. Virtua Fighter has always been far superior to other fighting games in terms of depth, with Street Fighter being the only exception. I'm not saying Tekken, Soul Calibur, Mortal Kombat, King of Fighters, or Dead or Alive aren't great games or aren't fun. I love them all too as I am a big fighting game fan. But Virtua Fighter has always had one of the deepest fighting systems I have experienced. And most other games just don't compare. I love Virtua Fighter 5 to this very day and I hope others out there feel the same. It's a fantastic fighter and needs more support. If you're still playing, speak up and let yourself be heard. shabuliaI still play from time to time although I'm not a great player, I really do hope Sega bring FS to consoles. I think VF is worthy of the monicker "easy to learn, hard to master" I never found the game hard to learn or indeed too deep. I'm from the hardcore SF days where you spent all your lunch money just to practice that Ken combo so you could beat your mates. I actually despise these casual fighting games and their all too easy systems, it should be about skill not pad bashing or turtle play to build up that Ultra Combo/X Ray move that will win you the match. Here's hoping Sega drop a bombshell and announce it at E3, as they need to act now whilst the fighting game circus is in town
Yeah I still play it from time to time. Picked it up super cheap a while ago. It is fairly deep but it's still a lotta fun.
I haven't enjoyed a VF game since VF3 on Dreamcast. I bought Tekken 3 for the psone and later DOA2 and Soul Calibur for DC and never touched a VF game again.CB4McGusto
Too bad you missed out on VF4 for PS2. At lease you can still get VF5 on Xbox 360 or PS3 SUPER cheap.
If you have a choice, get the 360 version as it has online play, is a bit more balanced, and has more items to customize your characters.
