Another FF thread by arad96. You gotta love these things. Anyways, all of these heroes are old. Please don't put any from any other games like FFVIII.Out of these who is the best? BTW, I did not put FFI or FFIII as they have no name for a hero.

I was tempted to go with Cloud but then I remembered Cloud as a person isn't nearly as interesting as his story from nobody to deluded, broken hero. So I thought, perhaps, it's Bartz. He's an adventurous and happy guy. Bartz is, of all of them, the hero I'd want to be friends with and invite over for some Chocobo steak.
But I chose Cecil in the end because he's not only interesting as a person but has a great story of wickedness, destruction, redemption and facing dark knight Cecil as paladin Cecil is a very memorable moment from the Final Fantasy series. So he's my favourite of that Final Fantasy period.
*insert argument here that Celes is the real heroine of FFVI*

There really was no main hero from FFVI. You could make a legitimate case for about 5 or 6 of the characters as the main hero/heroine. Besides, the story revolves around working together to defeat a common foe rather than the usual FF storyline of legendary heroes saving the world, and if there is a main character it would ruin that idea. That said, I say Firion is the best hero, simply because I don't like Cecil. I much prefer Kain as a fighter and in the story.
I should also mention that I despise Cloud. Throughout the story he's disgruntled and b****y, and he is the most overrated hero ever. Another thing is I've yet to play FF5. I will try to get andbeat it sometime this year when I have the time
I chose Terra and agree that there was no one main person of FF6 but I don't see who all you say could be argued as the main personif you say 5 or 6 heroes, I can understand Terra,Celes, maybe Locke, and very small maybe for Edgar. Either way any of those 4 are better than the others, celes IMO is much deeper and interesting than Cecil and has all the themese he does but of course she is not in this pole.

Listen, for anybody who reads this. I wanted to put many other characters on this poll. The problem is, is there a way to put more than 5 answers on a poll. Oh, yeah, BTW, my favorite character out of these is Cecil
I voted for Cecil; I just really liked how he transformed from Dark Knight to Paladin mid-game. Cecil as a Paladin was one of my favorite playable classes in all of the FF games
No Celes? :(BattleTurtles
I think she is just as major as Terra. She played an even more pivotal role than Terra did in the game. Look closely in the ending, most of it is actually from Celes's perspective and she is the one that puts the focus on Terra and her fate. Terra is the lynchpin for much of the first half and its the most important towards the plot, but Locke in the WoB and Celes in the WoR play more traditional protagonist role.
I consider both Terra and Celes to be main characters of FFVI, despite Celes not being in Dissidia (Terra is better for gameplay purposes). Both are the most dynamic characters in the game. Both very similiar in many ways, but have their key differences. Both play the biggest role in the ending. Actually the closing video of the FFVI Anthologies port is focused on Celes, with her character theme playing. FFVI is most about the magitek knights, Terra, Celes, and Kefka.*insert argument here that Celes is the real heroine of FFVI*

And despite all the raves for FF 6, I can't really judge on it... because I never actually finished it. Yea, I played it, but I always got so incredibly lost and never knew what to do or where to go, especially in the second half. I'd wished there was a strategy guide to come out with it when it came out on GBA, but Nintendo (and the guide writers) denied me my satisfaction. And as such, the game sits unplayed... because I just don't have the time or patience to sit through reading esoteric faq's based on the SNES version with all the wrong names for everything, and the last few online FAQ's/walkthroughs I could find on this game, based on the GBA version proper, were all incomplete as well, and basically left me hanging.  codezer0
In the WoR, once you get the airship I believe you can go directly into Kefka's tower. If you can't find the airship, the game is pretty linear from when you first awake in the WoR to when you get it. If you're looking to get everything, well, yeah you might want to lurk around a bit for a good SNES walkthrough.
An SNES walkthrough is not going to do me any good. Besides the fact that most names have been changed significantly, many of the exploits that were apparently there for the original SNES version had since been patched out of the gba re-release. Which means that in order to do it PROPERLY, I am going to need some help that is aware of these changes. In the WoR, once you get the airship I believe you can go directly into Kefka's tower. Well, FFVI is my favourite game ever, so I voted for Terra, even though she wasn't my favourite character.

This.
Wasn't Bartz originally called Butz?Second_Rook
Just poor translation. Like how Sabin became Mash somehow.

From what I remember, the only things patched were glitches that sometimes popped up in the SNES version and translations, along with the addition of more Espers and the Dragon Cave.
