Who is the best video game character.in History

I'd say Mario is the one of the most recognizable. And the stupid Angry Birds are bigger with kids these days than Mickey Mouse.

But I don't care, I'm voting Master Chief. Halo! :)

i started with nintendo but the first games i really remember beating and completing 100% because I liked them so much was Crash Bandicoot. I think just growing up with those games makes him my all time favorite.

The best and most memorable for me is Ezio/Desmond/Altair.

No other in my book comes close to them

well,I don't know,there's too much to make me feel distasteful,I grew up playing Mario at first,but I gave myself in to Sonic more than the others(except CJ and Fox McCloud)

Well I'd have to go with my favourite game of all time, Half-Life 2... so Gordon Freeman gets my vote I guess.

Mario is the greatest video game character of all time. Video games would not be where they are today if it were not for Mario. People here only voted for their personal favorite as opposed to what the question asked, who was the greatest.

If they voted for Pacman instead I would understand lol.

Sonic the Hedgehog: 40+ games; longest running video game based comic book series; first video game character blimp to appear in the Macy's Thanksgiving parade; was more popular than Mickey Mouse to children; 1 movie/ova; 4 television shows, and has a 5th one coming out next year.

I used to be all Gordon Freeman back when gamefaqs had it's character face offs.

but Solid Snake is my choice. He's The VG embodiment of the sentence (behind the surface of a cynic you'll find a dissapointed idealist). A survivor not just in the field but with much demonstrated will psychological endurance in his persona. Angry that he was used but still has to find something to believe in.

other runner up is Heihachi Mishima. His move tracking has gotten ridiculous over the years. Everytime you think you've got an opening, and WHAM. You're flying back into the walls.

Considering more people are able to recognize Mario then Santa worldwide, then I'd say him.

My two favorites are Maya from Phoenix Wright and Vivi from Final Fantasy IX.

This makes the most sense to me so Sonic gets my vote too, good to see him leading the pack.

Don't know what the criteria is, but I'll just go for Naked Snake/Big Boss.

If best means the most popular character, then it can be Mario or Pikachu.

Mario is probably the most well known.

But when it comes down to it, I had to go with Kratos. It was a toss up between him and Link, but Link doesn't show emotion or anything, he is just a pawn so to speak. Kratos on the other hand is a ruthless badazz. Had to side with him.

I have a very staunch opinion on my all time favorite game but I don't know if I've ever had a game character.

I picked Lara Croft. Boobs and Brains. You can't get better then that in a character.

On that list, I'd say Trevor Phillips is the best developed character.

Starfox and Mario for example are horrible characters, but we have nostalgia toward them.
