My friend who buys all the Kingdom Heart games already has it on Pre-order. Not my thing, but Kingdom Heart fans will swallow this up like candy.
You can't stop it. And shouldn't try_
I am a huge kingdom hearts fan. Im just not a fucking loser that buys everything from a franchise. 2.8 adds basically nothing.

Am I suppose to pay you pity for being immature? Only a sad person would get this spiteful on what others choose to buy.
Not everyone had a 3DS and played Dream Drop Distance. So this is a good chance for them to play it. Like with the 2.5 collection, I played KH2 on the ps2 but had no PSP to play BBS so I bought 2.5 for BBS and it was so worth it.
As for 2.8, I played DDD on the 3ds and as much I want aqua story, it is only 4 hours. Not worth it. But for people never played DDD (even if they had a 3ds, DDD stock was very limited after lunch, at least in EU) I'd say 2.8 is well worth the price for DDD and for Aqua's demo.
I always wanted to give Kingdom Hearts a try. But I'm confused now. 1.5? 2.5? 2.8? Where do I start now? I assume 2.8 doesn't include everything there is. So do I start with Kingdom Hearts 1? Or is there a better version of it included in 1.5? What's the deal?

Are you joking? You do know the game consists of a NEW game, a sequel to Birth by Sleep using technologies they build for KH3? And it comes with another movie based on a mobile game AND a remake ( ! ) of Dream Drop Distance? Compare dto the past two collection this one actually adds a lot.

Here is the order and where you can find each game.
Kingdom Hearts (PS2, PS3, PS4)
Chain of Memories (PS2, PS3, PS4, gameboy advance)
358/2 Days (DS, PS3, PS4 - the PS3 and PS4 versions are not playable, just a movie made from the cutscenes for the story)
Kingdom Hearts 2 (PS2, PS3, PS4)
Birth by Sleep (PSP, PS3, PS4)
Coded (DS, PS3, PS4 - the PS3 and PS4 versions are not playable, just a movie made from the cutscenes for the story)
Dream Drop Dinstance (3ds, PS4)
Kingdom Hearts Unchained X (Android, iOS)
0.2 A fragmentary passage (PS4)
Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover (PS4, it's a movie taking place along the events of Unchained X but it's not the same plot)
Now I know this is not a comprehensive list of all releases of KH games (I know Coded came out for smartphones in Japan and Chi was a browser game) but it's not really important to go into more detail. The PS3 versions of the games are parts of the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 and 2.5 collections. The PS4 versions are parts of the 2.8 collection that will be released in a couple of days and the 1.5+2.5 collection which will be released in a couple of months. This last collection is the two collections from PS3 brought together in 1080p60fps. It's important to note that the PS3 and PS4 versions are the most complete content-wise, they have all the extra bosses released in the west and Japan plus some extra content.
It's a shame but if you want to play 358/2 or Coded instead of watching the movie, you'll have to track down the games for the DS.

Thank you, kind sir. So I guess it's the PS4 1.5 + 2.5 collection for me.

Im not spiteful on what others spend their money on. I'm just saying people shouldnt waste 60 dollars on this. Its maybe a 50 dollar value max, though 40 would probably be the best price for it.
@ArchoNils2: Dont act like its an entire game. Its like 2 or possibly 3 hours of Aqua gameplay. And an hour long movie based on a game that already exists. And a remaster. 60 bucks? No sir.
I personally dont like when companies do their best to put out as many quick cashgrabs as they can. They could have easily put this on the super ultimate mega KH collection in march instead of making it its own 60 dollar thing.
@drrollinstein: Is that how much it costs in the US? Ouch! In my area it's the equivalent of 45 US dollars lol.
In the end though, to a long running fan. I'm sure it's worth it; if they just want more of the franchise.
Sure, waiting for a price drop would be a wise move. But with Kingdom Hearts 3 never being given a official release date. Fans just want more, and are getting impatient.
I was the same when Devil May Cry 4: Special edition came along. It wasn't worth the price, however I still went for it.
At any-case your wording still came across as spiteful :P
@drrollinstein: Yeah the asking price is pretty steep, especially if you don't want to replay Dream Drop Distance. I was thinking of getting a PS4 Pro on the end of the month in time for KH 2.8 (not just for 2.8, there are a couple of games on it I want to play but it is the trigger) however getting 2.8 on launch seems a bit too pricey. Maybe I'll wait a couple of months dodging spoilers as best as I can (which is hard since I play khux and frequent the reddit) to get it used or on sale.
I LOVE Kingdom Hearts and I plan on pick this up. BUT not for full price. I don't pay full price for any game so that isn't saying much anyways. I haven't played DDD (and skipped the ps3 last gen) but I'm planning on buying the Kingdom Hearts Collection first. Its coming out in March so I might as well wait to play everything in order again. By the time I finish, 2.8 will be cheap so no biggie. I think the collection should be $60 but 2.8 should be $40 since its a remaster 3ds game with a story demo and mini movie.
