are you planning on getting onlive? or are you happy with what you have?

im confused how it works.. you can buy games online and then play it right? or is there a fee you have to always pay if you play?

the onlly thing im worried is if the server that runs everything will crash D:

or about the lag- reviews said there was minimul lag.. but then again isn't 1 million people online playing it

thoughts?

Naw, it's bad service. Games don't look like they are going through their full potential.

I don't want to worry about lag, server crashing, or say if your ISP limit is like 200Gigs a month or something... lol. A digit game off streaming for 50 bucks is stupid, might as well buy the real thing and have it really collected and kept with you forever.

It sucks for traveling too.

I'm happy with what I have. I'd rather just outright buy the hardware and software instead of renting plus I don't care for the idea of relying on the internet for my whole gaming experience.

With a wii, xbox 360, ps3 slim, and ipod touch, I think i'll pass. Unless it gets great exclusives of course.

Someone explain this to me, you buy the console, then you get access to games? Or do you have to buy/rent games from onlive? Also is there a fee?

It is everything I hate with gaming. A middle man between me and my game and force On-line even for single player games.

" the service does an impressive-but not perfect-job of streaming games with high-end graphics to midrange and even entry-level systems that normally wouldn't have a prayer of running, say, Assassin's Creed II at 60 frames per second." "nce in a game, I was wowed by the quality of the picture and the framerate. Assassin's Creed 2, Dirt 2 and many others looked noticeably better than their console counterparts, with higher framerates as well. My experience with the video looking compressed was mixed. Unreal Tournament 3 got downright muddy at times, while the aforementioned games and others such as Batman: Arkham Asylum, a very dark game, were razor sharp from my viewing distance, with compression artifacts only visible if I stood an abnormal distance from the screen (2-3 feet). On the topic of control lag and latency issues in general: I didn't notice them. I'm sure there's lag, but in the (many) games I played it just didn't have any noticeable effect. Any dropped frames or stuttering -- which were infrequent -- were the result of the games themselves. The video streaming itself was entirely devoid of hitches or jumps in speed or quality." first quote was from the yahoo link and 2nd was from the joystiq my only worry is how long onlive will stay around :o if it happens to fail and drop out of the market- any games that you purchase will probably go bye bye D: personally I think it's a nice alternative if you can't afford to make your own gaming rig..

Not me. I prefer to have the option of playing game offline. I like physical copies when I can, and at the very least, have the game files on my computer. I am very skeptical much of the network infrastructure can support OnLive at high resolutions and none of the OnLive supporters here on the forums have convinced me otherwise. And lastly, I already have a high-end machine in my home. I currently have no need to switch even if I wanted to. And even if I did, I'd just go to my PS3 which I own.

Not getting it. It's not a huge step in PC gaming.

Saying it looks better than the console isnt saying much, and from my personal use of it, it only looks good if you are standing still.
