I think there has always been more charismatic and developed heroes than villains in videogames, but there´s a few bad ass bosses that rule.

I like Ganodorf, from TLOZ. It´s ambicious, think big, plan and manipulate, and have sword, metamorphic and magic skills.

I´m still waiting for a villain that wants to destroy everything to make chaos, like the joker in the last Batman movie. Or there´s one?

Luca Blight from Suikoden II remains my favorite villain to this day. He's evil, does not bring any mercy, and the acts he commits are heinous. Kefka from FFVI comes in at a close second.

Despite what I hear, Sephiroth is NOT the best villain of all time, nor is he the best villain in any FF game. That honor belongs to Kefka.

Kefka? Are you serious? Sephiroth is the best villian in a game.

Kefka WAS better. Who is a better character in general could be up for debate, but kefka was definitley the better, more evil villian. Sephiroth was trying to change the world, and thought what he was doing was for the betterment of the world and its inhabitants, even if it was not. Kefka just liked watching people suffer. Hes the type of guy who would release a nuclear warhead on his own people, just so he could laugh at the survivors as they suffered. Kefka was a lot more badass.

In fact kefka did try ending the world, just for a laugh.

Sephiroth is the least intimidating bad guy this side of Gabriel Byrne's Devil in End of Days. Its not surprising, as all the characters in that game seem like they were written in a 7th-grade creative writing class.

I would have to say either Sovereign from Mass Effect or G-Man from the Half-Life series. I really liked Sovereign's dialogue in Mass Effect and well G-Man is just a well crafted mystery that I would love to know more about.

Shifty Pete~ What are you talking about. He could control cloud and he was evil and conyving. He also had immense strength and was feared by many. How is that not intimidating? It isn't like kefka was intimidating. Come on, he is just a clown with make up.

Kefka diffidently, he cause such a problem for everyone and even worse the WORLD.

My 2nd choice would have to be Ramon Slazar or Ocelus (from metal gear)

And this is what happens when you don't play the game. Kefka is an insane psychopath literally. He poisoned a river killing everyone in Doma, created the light of judgment to destroy anything he wants, killed almost all of the espers to absorb their powers and not to mention he reshaped the entire world. He also some of the funniest dialogue ever and actually has a personality. He pretty much had no motive what's so ever to anything and was delusional.

Dr. Robotnik. I hate his fat ass and ridiculous mustache. I enjoy killing him more than Bowser.

I'm not sure why my original post was deleted. I'll explain again. Despite what I've heard from fans, he is simply not the best. He did a few bad acts, sure, but not as bad as what Kefka. Everything, to him, was all about making everyone around him suffer for his own enjoyment, like the Joker. Same thing with Luca Blight - he didn't care about changing the world either. He just loved making people suffer for his own amusement.

Hey! Kefka and Sephiroth are both awesome! Why can't we all just get along!?!?!?

Meh, they are the same to me. Both are psychopathic, both are murders, both attempt to destroy the world, both have angelic-looking final forms with bad-a$$ battle themes. :P

I've always found bowser to be my favorite because he's the loveable villian, but that's probably because he is one of the least evil villains. Oh well, I still like him. :)

Hoppin on the kefka bandwagon. The fights with him were the best parts of the game.

Also, Stanislaus Braun from fallout 3. He only made 1 appearance, but it freaked me the hell out.

John Romero :P I bet Doom II's final level became a lot more satisfying for players after Daikatana.

Having read the history of the development of Daikatana its actually quite depressing and sad in a way. But the fact that Romero is the behind the scenes villain in Doom II is incredibly ironic I think.

I have to agree. Shooting John Romero was very fun.

I'm going to have to agree with the TC on Ganondorf. He's just such a cool villain :D.
