That is very funny my friend, and very true, OMG a fat zombie came into my room yesterday but then exploded!!!!! I think I might be infected by a ficticious disease! They explode cause they eat too much human brain.
King Henry VIII famously (this is factual stuff!) exploded in his coffin after years of gluttonously eating. All the fat and gasses built up inside him and a few days before his interment he blew up inside his coffin. Zombies are all based off of very deep scientific studies, you see?
You also have to have variation. Scrawny midget zombies are still zombies but it would get awfully repetitive shooting those over and over again—fat zombies liven things up.
He's probably the one zombie that's eating all the brains. Notice how all the other zombies are skin and bones? No dinner for them. Fatty hogged it all. ;)

Well there are variations of it. Dead Space for example had a necromorph that exploded and released a bunch of little zombie things. those didn't really explode as much as hatch those little tiny necromorphs that are a pain in the ass, and again they don't explode they crawl out when you don't dismember them properly, the exploding ones are the skinny ones with the explosive sacks on their arms, anyhow I think those necromorphs are fat simply because they morphed to incubate those little necromorphs, not because those people were fat, L4D zombies are fat and explode because the person was fat
