I was able to get through half th game in one sitting, any game that is able to keep me entertained like that is not a bad game. So I wonder why do many do not like Halo?MiniBeas
I just don't see what's the big deal about it. It was good FPS but I can't agree with people making it sound like greatest game ever made.

Indeed.I think that the hate is more towards the people that think that Halo is the greatest FPS ever.ELJUDEZ
That's the main reason. I like the game, but its not as godly as people would like to believe.
Because it has no single player, horrible voice acting, and the only good thing about it is its graphics and online...no online no good Halo...yet i still buy them :cry:mgreener_34
I thought Halo: CE had a good story, but Halo 2 is where is was average.
Halo has never been my cup of tea. For what it is, it'sa solid FPS. But it's pace always felt too slow for me. And multiplayer in most cases felt like a snipers heaven rather then all out gun fights. TimeSplitters has been my preference for quite a few years now. It's the total opposite of Halo in terms of execution. Is TS a better game? Depends on who you ask. I never hated Halo, just never liked it's style. I never understood people hating games, unless they were down right bad.N3MOI don't hate Halo, but Timesplitters is also my preference. Halo plays like you're moving through molassis by comparison. Also, multiplayer is the main reason that I play fps and Halo is frankly quite boring unless you're online (not interested, thanks) or into co-op (yawn).
I don't know what's wrong with you dude... I mean Halo is fun, and I still had a good time playing the game, but there were moments where I had to really push myself to keep playing. The level design is just absolutely laughable. Here's ANOTHER room that looks exactly like the last rooms you've been playing through for the past hour! with the same enemies! woohoO! It felt like I was looping the same rooms for most of the game.
Half-Life had already been out for three years when this game came along, and yet Halo still managed to receive such praise. I don't get it. The game was fun but I would've given it a 7 or 8, I never saw the 9.7 material in the game.
Its simple. Nerds like Half-life, super cool rich kids like Halo. Nerds are filled with hate, so they choose to put it towards Halo... while the cool rich kids are hating the Halflifes. If you don't believe me, watch the counter strike mygot "reeeeeeeeee!" video.
Not much of this bothers me, I don't like either, fps are way too scary.

I'm in a similar boat. I thoroughly enjoy the game, but it's not the greatest FPS ever.
I don't exactly hate Halo, I think its a decent console shooter, but one thing I despise is the fanbase of Halo.
The fanbase makes the game seem like the greatest game of all time, but when you play it, its just a decent console shooter. Then Halo 2 came around and the fanbase was hyping it as the best game in the universe. Halo 2 was released, it had a lackluster singleplayer, but a good multiplayer. In my opinion, Halo is a game that has too much praise. Sure, it introduced some new features that are now common in FPS games (Recharging Shield) and the ability to throw grenades without changing the weapon. But in the end, its just a decent shooter that has a little too much praise.
