Why does Infinity Ward let Treyarch make call of duty games?

Infinity Ward doesn't own the rights to the call of duty name, so they can't make them all. And for what reason is IW better then Treyarch? They certainly didn't show their expertise in MW2...

I don't think Infinity Ward has a say in the matter, since I believe the Call of Duty name is owned by Activision.

Treyarch makes just as good CoD games as Infinity Ward.

So that Treyarch can fix everything that was broken in MW2.

i think iw did a good job with one game and that was cod 4 the rest arent near as good and mw2 was a mess

treyarch likes to experiment with their games add special things like zombies, ray gun, flamethrower, rc xd

yes iw made the best and that is cod4 buttreyarch has done alot they started small and worked there way up they outsold mw2

because infinity ward as it was no longer exists. The people that made all the previous games migrated to Respawn.

It's not up to Infinity Ward, it's up to Activision.

That about sums it up. IW created a great property with a super nice engine and did just about everything right for their first 3 games (COD, COD2 & COD4). Then they messed the whole thing up with MW2. Treyarch wallowed in suckiness until WAW, where they got to a shade above mediocre, then took their best ideas from WAW, the little that was good with MW2, and stole tons of ideas from other games to make a very fun COD game. Treyarch gets Zero points for originality, but tons of points for figuring out what people want.

This is due to Activision's plan to get COD released every year. IW makes a game for one year, Treyarch makes a game for next year. This way, both companies get 2-year development cycles while Activision gets more money.

Whoever made this plan up is probably swimming in cash now.
