-I liked DW 3 &XL, probably i spend on it more time than any other game , it had the personality , every battle was different than the others & tons of replay value without getting bored , plus it was the most tactical because soldiers actually affect the battle greatly also in terms of using your character, but seriously the other games were CRAP , all battles became alike , incredibly boring. -What happened to the series , what in the #$%^ are the developers thinking.

Well...ratings don't really mean anything. Left 4 Dead got a 8.5 here, I thought that was crap, same for Halo 3 and that got a 9.5. I personally really like Dynasty Warriors 4...XD But that first PSP one wasn't much good.

Lot's of people still watch the (insert theme here) Movie series, they get terrible ratings but I laugh at them just the same. Probably the same thing, DW gets crap ratings but people love to mash.

Because despite low ratings, DW is still immensly fun. It has a great story, which is most likely realistic, and there are so many possible characters to play as.

I grew up with a lot of beat-em-up's in my day. So the warrior series is really something I enjoy playing.

If they're making them that means people are buying them. I liked 3 more than 4, but didn't battles play out the same way in both games. 5 wasn't bad I think, they added different kinds of bases and I liked some of the individual missions. I haven't played 6 but the new designs looked horrible so I'll probably skip it. PS - the games are based on the chinese novel, Romance of the 3 kingdoms, which is most likely a glorified version of actual history. I wouldn't say that it's completely accurate/realistic. Real or not it's quite epic and Koei's Dynasty Warriors series captures that.

I like the series, it's really about the fans and sales. For the people who love the games and want more, they continue to make more for them, sometimes picking up new players of the series along the way. But just because they got low ratings doesn't always mean it's bad.

and most of the time the low scores are because the reviewer doesn't believe that Koei has advanced the series. Sure the series can get old and feel the same if you've played it before but for anyone who hasn't it's still pretty fun. A lot of other games have tried to copy the Dynasty Warriors formula, but I feel can't top it - Ninety Nine Nights (360), Drakengard series (cool concept, but plays worse than DW).

I, for one, believe that DW6 is the worst of the serie. Its good to take an approach to the novel romance of the three kingdom but personally, i liked the lack of realism some weapons had in previous DW games. :P

Makes me think i should buy warrior orochi 2.

I am a sucker for choosing out of a huge cast of characters with their own Musou/Story mode. Also mashing other peoples and trying to do certain objectives to make the battle go the way you want was my favorite.

I heard the Japanese love the series. I don't have a clue how the games do in the West, but they keep releasing them, so they must be doing all right.

I've only played Dynasty Warriors 4. I have to admit, I had fun with it, even if it was mindless.I don't own that game anymore, though.
