IGN has a lot more manpower than GameSpot has.LordAndrew
Those two reasons, plus that Gamespot only reviews games on their final version or equivalents. Those don't come up until there's few time left before the release of the game, they need a good amount of time to review (like Fredrick said) the game properly. Also, Gamespot doesn't has as much as capital (both human & finnancial) as IGN to do their job.

but isn't gamespot bigger (more popular) than ign? i'm from sweden so i don't know!
I don't know either, but I doubt that's really relevant. GameSpot just doesn't have as much resources as IGN has. That's not the reason, its because they are understaffed that's why...ign.com and 1up.com have huge editoral teams to review games and gamepot.com only has like 5-10 people to review games overall..compared to 1up and ign's 20+ that's really low.It takes time to play through a game man.

I don't know either, but I doubt that's really relevant. GameSpot just doesn't have as much resources as IGN has. Ign is more popular then GS is terms of traffic it recieves and yes Ign.com and 1up.com have more manpower then GS does that's why their reviews are up quicker then gamespots is.but isn't gamespot bigger (more popular) than ign?big_Not anymore. Gamespot used to be the most popular, trusted, dedicated game sight on the web. Now, not so much. They don't really have a solid editorial staff that can gain trust from readers; most are either contracted or don't stay long. Gone are the old days when readers could look forward to reading reviews from their regulars. Gamespot doesn't have regulars anymore.
