I know it's an old game but I still don't get why it is so underrated, I could easily give it a 9.0-9.5.

I didn't like it but to be fair I'm not a fan of sandbox games like some of my friends, only picked it up because it came out during a very dry season and I was scraping the bottom of the barrel looking for things to play.

9.0 is far too much, it has inherent flaws (climbing buildings is too slow, puts too much emphasis on shooting everyone instead of actual sabotage) but it's a really good game, especially if you like Assassin's Creed. Plus you gotta love a walking Irish stereotype ("Top o' the mornin' to ya")

AC2 was released at the time so it went under the radar very fast.

Probably because it was a new IP and reviewers (and most gamers) rarely give those a fair chance. I really loved the game myself. Platinumed both it and Assassin's Creed 2 and I think the Saboteur was the superior game in every way. No compairson really.

I heard that there were portions left unfinished or unreleased, as the studio that made it got shut down before they had a chance to finish it... them EA just released it as a completed game. I got it this past Christmas, used for 360, but haven't got around to playing it yet. I popped it in to check if the disk worked and played about 15 minutes. Seemed stylistically interesting. The controls felt sluggish though.

It's really not very fun, I bought it and I just didn't like it. Driving was pretty flimsy too.

I really enjoyed it, felt like a bit of a cross between Assassin's Creed and GTA. A sandbox city in WW2 era that allowed you to climb almost everything and tackle missions the way you wanted to.

Still playing it, but so far it's alright. The one thing that annoys the crap out of me is that the vehicles handle like crap. I'll give it though that the artistic design is amazing.

Isn't Saboteur one of the games that EA is shutting down the online gameplay?

Their just shutting down the servers for the DLC that you can get from codes packaged in with a brand new game. The DLC is will still be normally available through the Marketplace and PSN Store.

I absolutely adored the game. One of my favorite underrated games ever. That and Enslaved. The one game I truly wish i hadnt traded it in.

I also would give it a 9-9.5.

It was a fun game, but far from a 9. For one, there was far too much running around and blowing up the same kind of targets. I mean, I love wanton demolition as much as the next person, but it felt like padding. I would love to have a sequel, though.

I started playing it recently and I guess it's not bad, but it's far from great. The problem is it tries too hard to be cool and that of course is not cool. And climbing buildings is ridiculous, this I'm-so-tough-because-I'm-Irish guy suddenly becomes Lara Croft! I mean come on.

Ditto. I didn't even pick up up until about a year later and it was as cheap as dirt. I initially thought the premise was blaa but ended up loving it.

It was a brilliant game, I agree with that. A sandbox worth of replaying over and over.

It's a pretty decent game. I bought it when it was about 40 dollars and I really did enjoy it. Unfortunately, I couldn't get past the 3/4 mark because it kept freezing on one mission. Anyways, I wouldn't say it was underrated. I'd say it deserves a 7/10. It has an alright story and some gameplay, that had it been polished, would have been really good, but there were some bad flaws with the sluggish controls and overall glitchiness.

I agree. It is very underrated. I spend close to 60 hours on it, completing everything possible.

Man, I really should get around to trying this game. I bought it months ago for something like $18 (mainly for Dragon Age 2, which came bundled with it), installed both games, and didn't play either.

Probably just other popular games out at the time. Personally I thought it was a great game that was a lot of fun. Like Assassins Creed mixed with GTA. Loved it.

I agree, it's a great game. I don't remember hearing much about it before it released though, so I assume it wasn't a big budget title... It was a lot of fun though, and it's a shame that it's developer, Pandemic Studios, isn't around anymore to make a sequel (or anymore games at all for that matter).

I loved The Saboteur, I found it to be a great game, however I think it deserves an 8.0-8.5 because while 99% of it was great, the ending left me feeling disappointed and hollow.
