Why isnt GTA4 getting a remaster?

I see GTA ps2 trilogy get remastered and its so bad. Most people like it being the most early 2000s 6th gen game ever.

But what I dont get is why gta4 hasnt been remastered. It hasnt aged well at all. The graphics look so bad now. Like a mixed bag but still it screams 2008 aaa video game. The physics are so bad. I play as a 175 pound man and he makes a poll fall down. Cars flip over a leaf if they could.

It baffles me that gta4 hasnt ever got a next gen remaster. And it wouldnt be hard knowing that Gambryo is probably easy to modify and optimize.

It doesn't stand the test of time...on consoles that is. It's fine on PC when using mods.

I replayed it a few years ago and the car damage/physics were still impressive. I’m glad they’re not remastering. They’d shit on it just like the PS2 remasters.

We will get one. It will be incredibly overpriced.

@davillain: lazily importing it all into Unreal Engine 5 wasn't worth the risk anyway.

IV is still a game you could play today and not see a big gap in all around performance. Niko was a fun character, and the location was quite appealing and well done.

Totally get your frustration. GTA IV definitely hasn’t aged as gracefully as other entries, especially when it comes to the graphics and physics. It's a bit weird that Rockstar hasn't given it the same remaster treatment as other games. But I guess with the success of V and the focus on Online, they haven't had the time or incentive. Plus, the old tech does make it harder to upgrade without changing the whole vibe. Still, it would be awesome if they gave it a facelift!

They're probably thinking about revisiting NY for a future installment.
