Why isn't Ubisoft doing this with Blacklist with what 343 is doing with Halo 4?

OK, so let me explain please.

If you saw the video for Halo 4: The Hero Awakens, where they go into detail about capturing the performances for the characters, you'll notice that they bring back the original voice actors for Master Chief and Cortana and using different performance actors for those characters. This is great, since they are doing the right thing here; making sure the voices are intact while using different people to bring them to life with their real-life performances and capturing it. So why in the f****** heck is Ubisoft not doing the same for Sam Fisher and Michael Ironside? This still frustrates me to this day; that they are using the same actor for both when it doesn't come out right and it's the same for Anna Grímsdóttir as well, as in not keeping the original voice actor and using another lady for both voice and real-life performances. If Ubisoft thinks they are doing the right decision on this, they are stupid as all hell.

So why couldn't they do this? The solution is so obvious...just have Michael Ironside voice Sam and let this new kid just capture his performance. Jesus...

Because the whole excuse they presented (which you mentioned) is a complete lie. Of course they could record motion and voice separately, but they simply don't want to pay an expensive voice actor anymore and prefer hiring Mr Nobody and hide behind a finger.

its because they are trying to destroy splinter cell, obviously. they killed the multiplayer; now their working on the single player.

i liked convictions single player, but no spy vs mercs, after double agent **** on it was not helping the series. but if the new spy vs mercs is good this time around all will be forgiven. but they could dress sam in a tutu and have em be played by paulie shore, all i really care about is that good old pandora tomorrow/ chaos theory multiplayer :D

Is Michael Ironside really worth that much?

He voiced Sam Fisher for the better part of 10 years and he's a hollywood actor (though I'll concede, not a huge hollywood personality)

Money.

Jen Taylor (Cortana) is a voice actress. That's what she does. She probably makes more off Halo than she does for Left 4 Dead, but that's basically her career. Steve Downes has pretty much only done Halo, so I doubt he was very hard to get back on the team.

Michael Ironside, though, is a Hollywood actor. He probably costs way more than some new guy who's probably getting one paycheck for two jobs. He also probably holds a position of compromise over Ubisoft and is demanding more money than they want to shell out.

Jen Taylor makes her living doing voice over work, if Ironside doesn't get what he wants from Ubisoft he can just guest in another crappy made for TV movie and move on.
