Why no songs from 'Live' in Rock Band or any of the GH games?

Yeah, I'm sure there are a lot of bands that we can say this about, but Live was very popular in the mid-to-late 90's and had a number of great songs that would be fun to play (particularly on Rock Band, since Live always had a lot of vocals). So what gives? Anyone heard anything?

LIke a lot of bands in my opinion, Neversoft/Harmonix didn't include every great band in history. Maybe one day in GHIV.

There is a nearly endless list of songs and bands that would be good for Guitar Hero or Rock Band. Neither Harmonix nor Activision are showing any intention of stopping the production of future games and DLC, so I'd say to just wait patiently. If the song is really good, it'll probably show up eventually.

The early to mid 90's in general is ripe for GH and RB goodness, it's been pretty underrepresented so far compared to other eras. Candlebox, Live, Seven Mary Three, Our Lady Peace, Blind Melon, Soundgarden, Flaming Lips, Spacehog, Hole, Nine Inch Nails, Spin Doctors, R.E.M., Blur, um, The Cranberries.. anyway, I'm sure it'll all get dug up eventually for future releases/expansions/downloads, there's too much money to be made for all involved not to.

Every interview I've read involving someone on the Rock Band or Guitar Hero teams have referenced licensing as the number one issue when it comes to releasing songs. They've all repeatedly said it's just not as simple as saying, "Hey, this song is cool, let's do it".

On the other hand, we're certainly not starved for new content. RB just had a three-song Nine Inch Nails pack last week and is releasing a 6-song Grateful Dead pack this week. As far as I know, they're still planning on releasing whole albums as well. I'm really looking forward to the Who's "Who's Next". GH just did a three-song No Doubt pack, which fits right in with the need for more 90's music.

The good news is simply that both RB and GH have every intention of continuing to fill our hard drives with DLC as long as we keep paying ;)

All I want is Bush's "Sixteen Stone" album. That album was loaded with goodness.
