This years E3 there some been some companies that won't have booths or won't be at the showroom floor. EA is having there own event in LA and will still have a press conferences, Nintendo won't having anything there and it's still a big mistake on there part. But will the other big name companies pulled more. Sony have there Playstation Experience, Microsoft had there Xbox Fan Fest, and other companies have there own event. There is talked on social media that this year E3 could be the last one ever. But least they are having a public event for the first time in 10 years but will a 3 day public event for gamer can save E3. We don't have too many public event for gaming, sure there is PAX in the US or Gamescom in Germany and TGS in Japan but I have a feeling we could see the last of E3. So what do you say

I don't think this will be it's last year, however I do think we'll see a lot format changes in the next few years. Their'll be a bigger emphasis on public attendance, and the press conferences will slowly die out, in favor of the bigger company holding their own private events. But it won't happen in a single year, it'll be a slow progression over the next 3-5 shows.

Oh I agree with that, I think E3 will go back to a public event, they should make it like San Digo Comic Con like have a 3 day event for the public on Friday Saturday and Sunday after the two day industry event. As fas as the press conference they will still have tem but not many.

Nah it'll be around for at least a few more years anyway though perhaps its format might change somewhat.

I find it hard to imagine that it'll just close up shop as when you think of press conferences its always the one that comes to mind. I imagine similar thoughts spread to coverage of the event outside of the games press, that is if a non-gaming news or media site is only going to cover one video game event per year then it'll likely be an E3 opposed to one of the many PAX events if only for its historic nature.

i dont think itll be the last but i think its going to become smaller and there will be less emphasis on it in the industry.
i love E3...its been one of my fav times of year since i was a kid. but it is a relic from a time when the internet was far more limited and magazines were the primary source of gaming news and were the most effective way to spread that news.

nintendo direct is the approach more companies will take going forward i think. release news on a more regular basis when the company is ready.

I doubt it. There have been nay sayers for about a decade saying the same thing annually. Rest assured, E3 will be back next year.
