What are the chances that events in Halo might happen, to a sort, and we find ourselves fighting an alien race hellbent on our destruction? Is it possible that the creators at Bungie have predicted our future without even knowing it? Just some train for thought...

P.S. I still think we're all apart of the Matrix :P

Well, I do believe life exists on other planets. I don't see why our planet would be the only planet in the entire universe that supports life. So if wars have existed between countries, a war between planets seems likely to occur as well. The only thing I'm uncertain about is if technology will ever advance far enough so that contact can be made between the planets. The nearest planet that supports life is probably REALLY far away. I'm not sure if it's possible to travel that far, let alone fight a war with them.

If it were to happen it would be long after I am dead; I wouldn't care.

yeah, but the neoconservatives of the US have too much influence on the future UNSC then we'll be the Covenant with the false profits raging a crusade against the blasphemous heretics in space over their WMDs and when we fail to find them we'll say "well they were bad and their religion isn't really a religion", so yeah it can happen

I'd say the events of Mass Effect might be more likely to happen. The first aliens we make contact with will be hostile, because we are an unknown race to them, thus triggering the First Contact War.

Yeah, I secretly know that BioWare is really the ones with the ability to predict the future.

I do believe in aliens, and while its unknown as to whats in outer space, its plausible that in about 500 years from now we may be fighting aliens. All we can do for now, is wait.

There is, with out a doubt, life on other planets, but I doubt that said life will have constructed a physically improbable ringworld, be able to turn invisible, have giant evil plants that quote famous literature, and all live within warp distance of Earth.
