I know, we're going at a rate that's astonishing. We're creating these stunning new devices that make our jaws drop, the video games we're managing to produce are taking us away from this life. But will we ever make the effort to completely re-design what we've come to look upon? Will we manage to create cities as breathtaking as one's seen in Final Fantasy or Mass Effect? From my perspective, I'm sure that we're fully capable of creating these kind of "dreams". Are we no able to produce stunning, futuristic building structures, or is it just a matter of "afraid of change". You have to destroy in order to re-build, so why not take the chance? This is an open question. I am aware that advancing in technology could also very well doom us all, but it's just a thought. Discuss.
Well in Mass Effect I don't think we have the resources to make cities like the ones you go around in the game. I think most Sci-Fi games and movies kind of hinge on the fact that there's enough metal to go around to create ships the size of large cities and cities with 100 million people in them living in skyscrapers 5 miles high. I personally don't think there's enough resources to create things like that unless we start harvesting other planets in the solarsystem for resources, and then eventually start harvesting other planets in the known universe.
No. Before we ever advance that far some global conflict will take place and we'll just get sent back to where we are now or even further. We are too good at killing ourselves to ever expect those kinds of accomplishments or advancement.
Well I'de love to have something fantastical like that, but there are too many people who hate advancements. Look at the world; they love fighting each other mmore than anythign else. How is that possible with this kind of environment? I'm just saying TC.
