Hey OT, I know that when Wind Waker came out there were kind of mixed reactions when it came to Toon Link and the cel-shaded style.
Anyway, question is, did you like the change, or do youdislike it when it came to how they changed Link and all?

One of the best games I've ever played. Everything was perfect in that game including the art style and cel shading.
Wind Waker is an amazing acheivment in every department. The graphics are beautiful, the music is nearly perfect, the story is really good and the gameplay... well, let's just say I still find stuff to do in the game whenever I play it.
I loved it when it came out, and I love it still. I think when all the dust settles on the Zelda franchise, Wind Waker will be hailed as thegreatest Zelda ever. I think time is going to make it shine even more, expecially as Zelda's continue to change. It was ahead of its time, and is simply timeless.
It was a pretty good game, although I absolutely hated the long treks across the ocean. It was also a tad bit easy, even for a Zelda game. The world is full of charm and personality, but as a whole it's pretty empty, despite the large blank areas on the map would make you think. Mostly nothing there but rupees or some other item not required, and not that much of a reward for exploration IMO. I'd give it a 8/10 personally, as I found it a bit too tedious.Definitely worth picking up.
GREAT game. Very consistent presentation, fun fighting mechanics, and I like how cohesive the world feels. I have started playing Ocarina 3D--and Windwaker just does NOT measure up to it.
the style I didn't care for too much, but the game and gameplay itself could be described as o-v-e-r-r-a-t-e-d, as with most zelda games, at least every zelda game I played. this one was the most overrated

Really? Because from what I'm reading on this thread, not to mention other WW threads, there are quite a few that don't like the game.
Fair enough, but it is a well put together game. Personally I loved the music, visuals, story, and especially the way the combat controlled. The sailing gave the game an enormous amount of scope and really portrayed being out at sea, at least for me. It IS a good game though--next to no glitches or any bs like that.
I disliked the cartoony st1le. The tech demo was awesome and showed mature Link and Ganon fighting in "realistic" graphics, yet the first trailer for the game looked like a cartoony joke. Great disappoitment for me and something I still don't understand why Nintendo tricked us.
However, the final game was far from bad and the art-st1le is one of the best (ageless in a way). But I still think it would be smarter if they made "Ocarina 2" before they made Wind Waker. The difference was just too big and I'm sure it turned off many people from getting the GameCube as well.

Understandable critique. I too, before WWs release, was baffled by Nintendos decision. However, in hindsight and after TPs release, I think it was clear that the reason for the change was one dealing with character emotions. Imo, that gen suffered as far as realistic(or semi realistic) character emotions go.

I'd personally rather see a follow-up to Majora than TP tbh.

I respectfully disagree. MJ is a hard act to follow because it doesn't fit the zelda mold. I'm not saying it is a bad game by any means, but I'd rather them return to form. SS actually looks rather impressive. I wasn't wowed by it until the most recent footage, but outside of that game I would much prefer a somewhat Link to the Past isometric 3D zelda.

I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE for Link to return to termina. MM is my favorite game of all time, I would be really interested to see how the land has changed. Make it happen, Ninty!

The thing about Majora's is that it is very unique. You couldn't capture the same feeling, the same atmosphere the game had without just blatantly ripping things from it. Which is one of the many reasons a follow up to the game is unlikley to ever happen.
I second this comment 100%, followed by Ocarina. WW and it's contents are still lightyears ahead of most games that have been made since. When it was announced I hated the toon style. I refuse to play it for several years after it came out. I finally played it and it's my second favorite Zelda next to A Link to the Past.
