Wolfenstein:The new Order-Last game in the series?(spoliers)

For those of us who have played and beaten this absolute gem (I completed it just minutes ago), so you suppose it would be the last ever Wolfenstein game? I remember reading a couple of articles last year, stating that Machine Games would want to give a perfect 'send-off' for the series (Sorry, I don't remember the source). After seeing the ending of this game, it pretty much seems that this beloved franchise is history because it wouldn't make sense to develop a Wlfenstein game without Blazkowicz. Or maybe they would only make a prequel or something.

Your thoughts?

I hope not... I'd love to play another one. One of my fav games of the last couple of years.

They Plan on making a Sequel and beside's You Did'nt get to Blow up Hitler they should make him the Final .

I don't think they'd be able to do that, because killing the person you mentioned would mean the game probably won't be classified for release by the certification boards of a lot of countries. It could give rise to unnecessary controversies. Or maybe they can just change his name to something similar.

Yeah, this game was an unexpected gem. I didn't have too much of an expectation from it, and I bought it mainly for the Doom Beta. Turns out I got more than my money's worth. I completed it on medium difficulty, and will start a second playthrough soon on the hardest difficulty.

good point but maybe that Female Nazi will be the Main bad guy instead.

Part of me is wondering if any sequels will feature Anya Oliwa as the protaganist on the basis that she grows from a simple nurse to quite the capable resistance fighter, Not to mention her affection towards Blazkowitcz could be an additional reason to seek revenge against the Nazi's.

But we'll see.

That's a possibility, although highly unlikely. A Wolfenstein game without Blazkowicz doesn't feel like a Wolfenstein game. A better option would be to make a spin-off kind of game with Anya Oliwa as the protagonist.

Without BJ there is NO Wolfenstein!!!! So I suppose it was the final Wolfenstein game ever made...

Hope not. If so i think Machine Games should take on Duke Nukem, these veterans know how to make proper single player FPS. I respect them even more for leaving out online part.

I read somewhere, I think it even was on gamespot, that they already have ideas on how to continue from there.

I really hope for a sequel to Wolfenstein as I love the series and Machinegames has proven they can make great games, so I also want to see more of them. Would be cool if the next one was a homage to RTCW, where The Last Order was a homage to Wolf 3D in a lot of ways.

But I have a feeling that The New Order sold below expectations so it remains to be seen.

Any idea what that helicopter sound could mean? I didn't have the patience to sit through the credits, so I missed that scene.
