while this console does have good games,  --- xbox360 , and ps3 , two for the price of  one,Â
the first has to many error codes and problems the 2nd the online is total trashÂ
All this hate for the Wii. I can't deny the amount of shovelware on it, there was a lot. But among that library there is a large number of gems:
And the Wii Virtual Console is fantastic for getting those games that are just too hard to track down or too expensive.
The Virtual boy. It was nintendo's only failed portable/console. 3D system. And the Atari Jaguar 64 bit console. Which sort of did get creative with the math to get the 64 number. Then Atari died.
WOAH WOAH WOAH...I'm seeing responses like the Gamecube and the Wii....
Â
You guys need to go play an Apple Pippin before you dare say something about Nintendo consoles...yeah I'm not the biggest Nintendo fan around, but there are a lot worse options out there...AHEM Apple Pippin.
Yeah, calling the GC bad is just silly. The GC was Nintendo's best offering since the SNES since the N64 had an atrocious library. the GC gets picked on but how come the N64 always gets a free pass? I say the CD-i is the worst console ever or maybe the Gizmondo.WOAH WOAH WOAH...I'm seeing responses like the Gamecube and the Wii....

^Exactly. Even if you don't like the Wii's library there's still the Virtual Console so the Wii can serve some purpose. There were a lot of consoles in the 80s and 90s that were completely useless and had nothing going for them outside of maybe one or two games. JML897
It's all opinion, I didn't have the Jaguar so I can't comment on it, out of all the consoles I've had experience with Wii was my least favourite by far.
There's loads of other reasons but those are my main gripes with it, and there enough for me to put it as my worst.

- Kirby's Dream Collection

- Metal Slug Anthology
- Mario Kart Wii

Sonic Generations wasn't released for the Wii...
Nevertheless, I'd replace it with Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition. Although a last gen game, the Wii Edition was the definitive version of the game.
And don't forget the Apple Pippen and Gizmondo too.Philips CDi. Nothing else comes close.

Remove Generations since it's not a Wii game.
Add:
A lot that I listed are third party. Some of these games overall have no motion controls.
Any system with SMG2, Xenoblade Chronicles, DKCR, and Metroid Prime Trilogy shouldn't be labeled as the worst system ever.

I agree with you that the Wii is not the worst, but when you resort to multiplats and games that are not even on the Wii (Sonic generations?) which at the same time, shows you have either not played portions of your list or you don't even pay attention to its game library, makes your opinion seem muted.
Â
Most people put the CD-I and 3DO at the top of worst lists, personally, the systems that are actually bad never really make it on the lists like PC-FX, game.com etc.

Question, have you played either of those systems? Just curious to see how you fromed your opinion.
Â
Also to answer the thread, Mega duck I believe is what its called. It's bad enough some bad consoles with a few bad games, but when you have a LARGE library of bad games, well..
Why does everyone at Gamespot refute multiplatform games? Why do they not count?
Emerald_Warrior
I think because most consoles are judged on their exclusive games since then no other consoles could share them. 3rd party seems to brought up only when there are drastic differences. Like Doom on the SNES, Genesis, and Jaguar.
Sega saturn, virtual boy, 3DS, 3DS XL, WII, WII U, PS VITA, Xbox 360, Atari Jaguar, 3DO, Atari Lynx, N64 DD, PSP GO the titles were boring after a while. sonyfreak456

Well I think multiplatform games matter. Wii had a lot of 3rd party support, that's a good thing, not a bad thing. Whereas a console such as CD-i or Gizmondo which actually deserve "worst console ever" had nearly zero third-party support.
Regardless of that, there's a large number of first-party exclusive gems on the Wii in my initial list anyways.

apple pippin had some pretty good PC games on it that were highly rated, just because the conole was a failure does not mean it did not have good games, look at the dreamcast. Although I will say that the pippin needed more exclusive content.

Pffft, N64 completely destroys the GameCube.
Nintendo spent the whole of the N64 era re-inventing and re-imagining their major IPs, they spent the whole of the GameCube era coasting along rehashing the stuff they did on N64.
--------------------------------------------
The N64 gave us the Smash Bros series, the Paper Mario series, the 1080 series, Animal Crossing, Mario Party.
What did the Gamecube give us? Pikmin? Batallion Wars? big woop.
--------------------------------------------
Gamecube had -
The weakest core Mario game
The weakest Mario Kart game
The weakest Star Fox game
A disappointing Wave Race sequel
A disappointing 1080 sequel
The only saving graces that system had were the excellent Smash Bros Melee, F-Zero GX, Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime, and the decent sized selection of belated PS2 ports and multi-platform games.

Oh come on, the GC has Resident Evil 4 and all sorts of Capcom goodness too. How could you say Sunshine was bad? It was good. No, N64 had ZERO 3rd party support, only good titles were from Rare and Nintendo. The GC at least had 3rd party support. How come the GC gets bashed but the N64 gets a free pass? I'm sorry but the GC has the better library. Truth hurts.Well, I did my research.[QUOTE="GSJones1994"][QUOTE="Admiral-lemnant"]

The Dreamcast is one of the greatest game consoles of all time, FYI.to me handheld consoles, now put to shame from iphone apps. Why? Because when do you like to play a 2d game on a small display, when you can do it comfortably at home on your sofa on your lcd.
of these consoles i owned game gear and i had some fun with wonderboy but then i had also pain to my eyes so i sold rapidly the whole and i never regretted

Capcom released 5 or 6 good GameCube games, all of which were multiplatform.
Rareware released 9 or 10 great exclusives on N64.
Rareware were releasing some of the best, and most impressive games of that gen, whilst outside of RE4 Capcom were using the GameCube as a dumping ground to squeeze some extra cash out of their old titles, or a proving ground for titles they were unsure about.
How could you say Sunshine was bad? It was good.GSJones1994It was second rate. Games on PS2, and XBox, such as Ratchet and Clank, and Psychonauts made it look like a really tired, outdated release, Nintendo were completely surpassed in the platformer genre that gen for the first and only time.

No, Konami, Treasure, Rockstar North, Ubisoft, Activision, Midway, EA, Infogrames, and Acclaim all released respectable numbers of good games on N64.
You clearly don't know anything about N64 at all.

The worse console out of what I have owned and what I have played enough to have a valid opinion on is a Sega Game Gear. It's OK but ultimately the bad battery life and washed out screen mean I don't really play it much. The battery life is much better now w/ modern batteries but the screen is still kinda blurry and very washed out. Also, unlike a Nomad, there is no easy way to update to a more modern LCD.
