Gotta go with FFX-2. I mean, when I first read about the plot line of this game, I wanted to cry. When it did come out, Surprise, it was butt-tastic.

Dawn of Mana (PS2)
SE announces a single-player 3-D action-adventure game with locking-on and an unnecessary level-resetting system after every chapter.
Or "We took everything out of any Mana game you know or care about to see if you'll buy it because we want all games we call RPG's to be as close to Zelda as we can."
And now SE remakes retired games into turn-based RPG's. Not hard to see why.
thats what it was originaly meant to be, halo was at first an rts. i think it will be funThis is slighty of topic but...
I say Halo Wars, I find it a dumb ideal to turn an FPS into a RTS game.

Yeah but then it had so much acclaim as an FPS. Sure spinoffs sell but it may have been better to just make a prequel about one of the 3 Halos or even remakes with extras or something.
changing the Genre was kind of a strange move for me, and I hope they don't turn it into an RPG.
Kane and Lynch: Dead Men...

Were those the CD-i games? If so I think we have a winner. I'm also gonna throw out Night Trap and a lot of the FMV tripe of that era, the Create Your Own Video games for Sega CD Kris-Kross, Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch and C+C Music Factory all pretty pathetic.

Yep those are the Cd-i games. And add Hotel Mario to that.
Shaq Fu. Forget about the bad gameplay for a second and just look at the ridiculous concept. That alone makes it horrible.staindcoldlp
Yea that was a moronic game. Does anyone remember Cool Spot?
Big Rigs Over the Road Racing - What happens when you release an unfinished and guite buggy game and call it a sellable product.charrr1234
It sold surprisingly well all things considering.

Good idea, mediocre game. It got a fair score of 6.0 afterall.
Boogerman. Whats the point of making a game that revolves around the idea of some really ugly guy fighting with his own snot.
Mario Paint. That had to be one of the worst and altogether unmanageable i have ever played. it was almost impossible to use the extra mouse controler that came with the game. The premis itself is terrible who really wants to make pictures with their super nintendo on basically a crappy version of microsoft paint.

Yes, but that was a game where the concept is hilariously stupid, but the game itself was absolutely excellent (at least, the SNES version).
Anyway, stupid concepts that made horrible games? There are simply too many to list in a single topic, let alone a single post.
"Hey GTA is really doing good, lets make a game thats like GTA"Thevenin167
I agree with that for every game but Mafia, which was being developed before GTA III.
Also a good sign is that it was hailed as one of the best console games a whole two years after the PC version came out.

The makers should be sued, selling an unplayable game that was never patched.
Also i didnt think FFX-2 was thta bad personally.
Hybird Heaven.
Instead of giving us guns and knives, you walk around fist fighting aliens. Unrealistic much?

I was digging the idea until I got attacked by a T-rex on level two.
I'm sorry, but performing a suplex on dinosaurs is not how I imagined post-modern america.

I quite enjoyed Hybrid Heaven despite the whole concept being a bit naff. Oh, it's got some very low points, but on the whole I've got some good hours out of it.
Puzzle de Harvest Moon. Completely stupid. What was the purpose with the "de" ? Sounds french....
Oh, horrible spin-off too.
cdc9994
Hahahahah. I love Harvest Moon though, it's addicting for some reason.
A lot of spin-offs are really quirky and just flat out awful.
Mortal Kombat Mythologies - The best example of why fighting games shouldn't be made to be anything else.loopy_101
LOL, I actually bought that crap. This is the first time I've heard that title in years.
Shaq Fu. Forget about the bad gameplay for a second and just look at the ridiculous concept. That alone makes it horrible.staindcoldlp
I second this one. Shaq Fu is truly the most horrific fighting game I've ever seen. Even its box-art gave me the creeps
