Hello everyone,

First of all thank you for reading my post. Last year I bought a budget rig with ---

Intel i5 4460

Asus strix 960 2GB

8 GB DDR3 ram

I played almost every game at high settings with 60 fps at 1920x1080. Some modern title games did use much ram. But not like Just cause 3. It really is a bad experience playing in my rig. Some people of steam told me my rig is not enough to play this game. Ok, i value their opinions. But even playing at medium setting the game stutters like hell and fps drops from 80 to 8 fps some times. If my rig is so bad, then why it goes up to 80 fps and stand their for very good time and suddenly goes down to 8 fps during intense explosion moments? It also stutters without any explosions too.

My plan is not to buy a new rig in near future as I am a budget guy. Now my questions is should I buy another 8 GB ram more to increase performance of this game? Does it also worth for daily usage without gaming?

Thank in advance for stopping by.

@pcroky: Your 8GB system RAM is fine. I also have 8GB and have never had an issue on any game. Your 2GB VRAM on your video card may be the issue. Try lowering textures or other settings that may be using a lot of VRAM.

There's not reason to have 16GB RAM for gaming these days. 8GB is plenty.

Sounds like a problem with the game, not your rig, specs look fine. Are you drivers up to date?

@csward: yes, my drivers are up to date. Actually there is a problem in that game and that is memory leaking problem. After discussing with many people I have decided not to buy additional 8GB ram as most of pc games and other works are doing great in my rig.

16GB RAM won't give you a performance boost over 8GB in any game from my experience, but I did it anyway because RAM is currently dirt cheap at €50, so I thought "why not?",

your issue could either be an optimization issue or a malware, I suggest you run task management, monitor your GPU, CPU, RAM usage and see if any unusual file pops up.

Considering that RAMs are very affordable nowadays, I see no reason why you shouldn't add another 8GB.
