I own a Wii right now, and want to get a PS3 or Xbox360, but I'm worried if buying it will affect my school mark. I'min high school with all honors and want to do well, but i really want a console. I usually get straight A's, but if i get a PS3 or Xbox, would it affect my mark in any way?I sometimes over play too many video games.Btw, i only play on weekends

no, buying the consoles itself have no affect on your grades. even playing more hours of gaming will have little affects. The source of the problem would simply be with you. By that i mean any change in your grades would be your own fault, not the games. If you wish to buy another system then by all means do so.

But if he does not buy the console then there is no way his grades will go down.

If he has the console there will always be the issue of playing or doing homework.

Yes it is up to him, like you said he know if he can handle it.

The consoles and games themselves won't be the problem. They'll get in the way of your grades if you let them.

I wouldn't. Wait until your exams are over, because at least in my experience, there is absolutely no way you can play games properly on three different consoles whilst maintaining A grades. I don't know how exams are like outside the UK, so you may have enough time to do that.

If you have strong time-management skills, you will be fine. If you are like me, and don't have those skills in high school, avoid games that will suck you in and stick to casual gaming.

It basically comes down to discipline. If you only play on weekends, and you strongly believe that you can maintain that, that will go a long way to helping you focus on your courses instead of diverting time and resources to gaming. Even a couple of hours a night shouldn't be too bad depending on your workload. However, just as with any hobby, there is the potential to get obsessed and devote a disproportionate amount of time to games. Good luck with your decision.

Just keep good time management and it will affect you very little if at all.

You, my young friend, simply need to do what you feel best. If you find yourself getting horribly addicted to a console, you'll do what I did, superglue all the new consoles together and create a massive sculputre of trash in the backyard, which I light with lighterfluid each weekend. I play only PC and TurboGrafx. Those are the only "consoles" one needs. DO YOUR HOMEWORK You sound like a smart kid, and the future of gaming rests on people like you, designers, etc. i m building a vid now, perhaps i could use you ... check out www.tron1.com peace geroge d 2
