Would buy a game with a homosexual lead character? Gameplay, story, and genre are all to your liking, and the game in question has scored a 9+ rating on all major review sites. Would u buy it? yes, no, maybe.

Yep. My answer is the same as it was in the PS3 boards. I have no problem playing as a homosexual. Doesn't bother me at all.

As long as they don't talk like a homosexual, and as long as it's not a GTA-like game (If you know what I mean)

Of course. A friend, actor, artist, musician, or video game character's sexuality means nothing to me. If I like someone's work, or friendship that's all that matters to me.

If the main character is likeable and the game is good, then I don't care which team he/she bats for

And by "talk like a homosexual" i mean in a really prissy voice. It's kind of annoying to me.

Why should that turn people away from a video game?

Flamboyancy would have to be non-existent though. That stuff is obnoxious and creepy. IMO.

If I were a gay MC, I would most definitely hit Dojima from Persona 4. He's hot stuff.

This. If it features needless homosexual activity, I would be hard-pressed to say i was being entertained. But if the character's homosexuality never comes into play, who the hell needs to know? I have no idea if Master Chief is gay I don't know if Zoe is a lesbian, or Samus. You know why? because it doesn't impact gameplay. If a game features tasteless sexual activity, homosexual or otherwise, then of course i don't want to be subjected to that (I would never consider buying Leisure Suit Larry, Playboy: The Mansion, BMXXX, DoA: Beach volleyball, or Rumble Roses, either). But if the sexuality isn't a main point of a story, why feature it in the first place?

I never intended for people to believe that homosexuality would be the main aspect of the game; it was more of Mario saving his Prince instead of Princess. Tho depending of the type of games u like, the amount of impact the character sexuality would have on the over game is altered, as of course in a RPGs, there is a heavy focus on the story (most of which involve a love interest).

"Story [...] to your liking" indicates that the character is not a 'flaming' gay who speaks and acts annoyingly, but simply a lead character like any other except that their sexual preference is uncommon. Since I'm not a homophobe, it would not detract from my overall playing experience. Short answer: Yes.

first of all them being gay would have to come up in the game at some point I assume??...with that said, if it was a female character..sure I might try it...if it was a dude..honestly I would'nt have any interest in finding out how/why/when it is found that he is gay..that's just the way I am..same reason I've never seen the movie Brokeback Mountain..and I heard it was a good movie

BMXXX?? Have you ever played that game? It's actually a pretty good game for when it came out...I would'nt compare it to the others you listed...plus it has a great soundtrack..

I compare it to those titles because, as was most certainly the goal of that game's marketing department, the only thing they chose to make aware to the public was the inclusion of naked boobies. that's called exploitation. Just like any of the other games i listed, they may have redeemable qualities, but they all chose toexploit sex as an marketing strategy. Granted, plenty of titles do the same thing, none do it as explicitly as those titles mentioned above.

Fair enough. I think maybe i neglected to make my point clearly. As long as it doesn't effect gameplay or presentation, I don't really care about the sexual orientation of any given character in a game. It's when a game starts to compromise it's class for the sake of sex that I become troubled.

I honestly don't know. I don't care if someone is interested in the same sex, but I am nervous around individuals like that for some reason. I don't have anything against them, but I think I'm uneasy because there is such a gap in interest. In Fable, for example, the school teacher in Bowerstone South, a man, fell in love with me, wanted to marry me, and it freaked me out a bit... So, in short, I don't know. I would be willing to try it, I guess, but I can't say for sure.

As long as he wasn't running around doing blatantly homosexual things sure why not. I play WoW and half my characters are girls just because I prefer their combat animations so I don't see what's wrong with playing a gay character. Just keep it to the normal gays, and not the ones that run around prancing and talking like a 12 year old girl.
