Poll Would you be interested in a app and web-service that tracked release dates for all forms of media? (8 votes)

Yes 50%
No 50%

I'm working on a college assignment where I have to propose a fake product and requires some basic research.

The product is an application and web service that allows users to track the release dates of any published entertainment media. This would include video games, movies, books, comics, etc. Additionally the service would allow users to follow creators such as authors, developers, and the like to receive notifications about up coming projects.

Thank you for the input. It will be a big help.

(Also if this is in the wrong board, I will change it to the proper one as soon as possible)

Considering that GS is now a mess for following stuff, I say yes. Although I'm going to have to create an excel spreadsheet in the near future to start keeping track of all the games I want, so I don't think I'd be relying on any web services.

Not really

With Steam, Origin, Uplay and emailservices i dont need a app for it, but you can always try to develop one and try your luck.

Its not like it would be insanely hard to develop.

definatly, I used to check release dates on games here but Gamespot has made it hard to use this site. Some people say just look it up, well if you don't know that a game is coming out then you don't have anything to look up.

Potentially, yes. Right now there's no one good place to track it. I've used GameSpot and Amazon in the past but as others have pointed out, it's nearly impossible to do now.

All forms of media? That would be awesome. Im an avid movie watcher, music listener, and gamer and I'd love something like that.

The only issue is that a lot of what I like is typically niche

Not to mention needing to know them immediately to the point where i couldn't be in convinced to go on google on my phone.

Not quite. But, how would you constantly keep this information up to date? Sounds like a real pain in the ass
