Why would anyone rent a game console?

Also is it even possible today? the place you would do that was a video rental , but they have not been around for years.

@Jacanuk: To see if they like it before they spend hundreds of dollars on it. Or maybe just looking to play it for a few weeks with no intention of purchasing one. The same reasons people used to rent them.

If the price is right yes, I want to play bloodlourne and don't have a ps4, don't want to spend the money on a ps4 for one game I'd play on it.

Yes. I mainly play on PC and there are some exclusives I'd maybe like to play.

@thehig1: If you were to rent for a month at a flat fee, what price range would you deem reasonable?

They use to rent consoles before. I think it ended during the PS2 era though.

But can you even do it? do you have any shops at all near you which rents out consoles.

Or is this thread because you are planning to start a business renting out consoles ?

@Jacanuk: I've pondered the idea of starting a business renting out consoles, but I wanted to see if there was a market there.

back in the day Blockbuster used to rent consoles, and yes, I did once or twice. I think I rented the 3DO machine, man what a piece of shit that was. But also fun! lol.
