Well apparently someone would.

Portability is nice and all, but it looks like something you could build yourself fairly cheaply yourself. Especially if you read that book by Ben Heck that tells you how to basically build portable versions of various old school consoles.

Heck no I wouldn't. I won't pay that much for any system unless it's a PC.

Nope. And it's not exactly all that "portable" so I fail to see the point in owning it.

AND have money left over for "Blast Corps", the best game on the system.

Nope. I was never much of a fan of the system to begin with. I also wouldn't pay $450 for any system.

Not a chance. The N64 is a great system and all, but its not something I need to be portable.

I'd just make my own. Get an n64 for like $50, look up some tutorials, buy some molding, screen & a battery(~$100) & ur good to go. Might take a while, but it beats paying 450.

That's what i was thinking. It doesn't take to long if you pay attention and learn a bit. And that red case looks like a old radio. The guy that made it put a lot of work into it.

I don't know, that really depends on your experience, how much time you have on your hands and how fast you can aquire the parts. I mean, i can build a arcade cabinet using some parts from a computer and some software, for me to learn that it took me about a week. I am actually planning to do just that, just need to buy a few more parts.

I saw a video series on Youtube of a guy making a PC into a NES case. With the GameEX front-end installed (its a home theater software), it's basically a console. He hooked it up a PC.

It was really really cool to see how much creativity, and passion, one guy can have wen building stuff like this.

OK. So it's a little bit different than what I thought. It looks kinda cool actually. And has a PS1 nub! LOL Anyway, I still wouldn't pay that much for it. In fact, I've never paid or let my mom pay for a system over 250 dollars as far as I know.

No, I'd just go to a garage sale and buy a normal N64 for $10.

considering it was made by one guy, as opposed to an army of engineers, and that the N64 hardware was never meant to be portable, I think he did a decent job. though I personally wouldn't get it just for the price.

Maybe so. But I don't know how anyone could pay that much for such a Frankenstein'ish one of a kind monstrosity, even if it does play N64 carts.

Custom made portables are kinda of neat. I would just stick with the original Nintendo 64. (In a way the Nintendo DS is the thing closest to a portable N64) in terms of processing power. Plus there is a Super Mario 64 port.

I think I could be convinced to pay a hundred bucks for such a thing but not $450. Still, I am jealous of whoever gets it.

3.5 inches is very close to the PSP screen , so its not too bad. though playing N64 games on that screen might be weird , Ive tried playing PS1 games on the PSP and it just looked weird.

I mean proportionally. Look at the size of the entire console, then the screen. It looks small to me.

I find it a bit funny its more expensive than current handhelds, even the Vita which isnt even out yet. the portable Saturn still gets my props for being the best (though ugly) portable console :P , as do many of the portable Dreamcasts.

Heck no, and it looks so badly built. You can see all the glue marks on it. I'd be ashamed to use that and think it was cool.

Me too. I don't transit, and if I do have time to sit down and game it will be on a console. This new WiiU does look interesting though.

Pffft... why buy such an ugly, expensive device when you could get the real thing? If you really want a portable N64, there are other ways around that.
