http://www.gmbar.com/mmorpg-207.htmlObviously, someone reached the limit of how much World of Warcraft gold you can carry on one character. It is 217748 gold, 36 silver, 46 copper.

The German player, character Tyram, claims that he plays WoW mostly as a economy simulation and that he got all that wow gold from trading and playing the AH. He has even more gold on his twinks.

It's a shame he can't put his 'economy simulation' to good use in real life, instead of wasting time and money playing WoW...

Only when the limit is decided by the developers instead of just left as it is due to the programming as in WoW. As described in the link WoW uses a certain way of remembering how much gold a player holds and as the amount this method can remember is limited you will at some point run into a ceiling.

Well, he could make a ton of real life cash by selling the gold. All that is probably worth ~$5000.

"Why is this random figure the gold cap? Because they most likely store the data in a 32 bit signed integer, which has a maximum size of 2147483647. So the actual cap could potentially be 214748 gold, 36 silver and 47 copper, or they use that last byte for something else."
