Wow uh really cant remember old game (maybe demo) and i dont know if you will

Okay let's see...I was very young when i played this and the memory is so vauge I dont know why im even trying and I dont blame anyone for not knowing what game it is. I mean really its the most vauge memory you will ever hear. Seriously. Well here it goes:

I remember playing a game on the ps1/psx/whatever, it seemed like it was in yellowish color and sort of dark, or at the end part it turned to night. I swear it was a demo becuase the last part I remember was a cutscene and it ended. Im sure it was 2d. You played as a boy and i think you start out on a beach and you have to talk to somebody and do what they tell you before you could really do anything. I dont remember anything after talkin to the person and the last part. I guess there was some sort of gate and I dont know what was going on I guess the people in your villiage or wherever you lived were preparing to fight back against some monster, Idk what else it could of been I dont see why else they would stay over there knowing what was coming.

But anyways, I guess there was some monster thing that came into the villiage or whatever and killed everyone, and I know it ended there becuase I can remember wanting to play more. I was so young I thought if I played it over and over I could somehow get it to let me play more. I eventually got bored.

Its very weird and im sure its a very little known game. Im very tired right now I tried to do the best I could in explaining. Any help/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

hmm, umm tbh I got no idea, I keep getting the feeling that its a game in the FF series but I dont think it is... :?

hmmm.....it may be Chrono Cross for Playstation One. Which is a great game. Other than that idk what it would be.

Your description kind of sounds like a part of Final Fantasy VII, but I doubt that's it.

Do you remember the gameplay style? Was it a platformer? A shooter? RPG?

Sounds a lot like Breath of Fire.... but that's for the SNES.

I was also thinking it might be Alundra.

What kind of 2d?

Top down view? Sidescroller?

Yeah my memories are probably mixing up a whole bunch of different things, but its just theres so many game in the library its hard to tell. Let's see:

Older looking graphics-Alundra

Yellowish Grass-Alundra

Washing up on the beach-Alundra

Monster from 1000 years-Alundra

The only thing is I really remember there being a gate with a monster coming through and taking over. There could have been like a big flash and then it ends, I dont really know im leading to all sorts of different things Ill keep looking around.
