Xbox 360 "red ring of death"

i got my 360 yesterday so i would like to know if i would styll get the red lights since they fixed them wen the defective ones came out in 2005?

Keep it well ventilated. Chances are that it should be ok, but the new chips don't come out till later this fall. So the overheating issue may still remain.l

could you buy the chip and put it in your 360 yourself or do you have to buy a new 360hbk_shane_4life

the new chip will already be in 360 when you buy it the new chip come in 360 will be out in September

As for avoiding the RRoD, just take good care of system. By that I mean keeping it where it can get plenty of air, also keep it away from carpets as they cause heat. Also keep the power cord in a good area with lots of space. I've done this for nearly two years (september will be 2 yrs.) and so far, so good.
