XCom Unknown a good game?

It's bundled with the bioshock infinite preorder + $30 2k games credit. 

Good game?

Impression I got from playing first mission in demo is that it's a lot like all other turn-based tactical games, only with too many cutscenes and a macho/simplistic plot.

Very good game. The console versions are buggy though, especially the PS3 version. The 360 version is great until the final area, it suffers from constant freeze-ups at that point.

it's a good game. typically, these types of games are about what you can see. xcom is more about what you can't see, giving it more of a horror aspect. i never felt that there were too many cut-scenes and i'm definitely not a fan of cut-scenes in games. you just get a 5 - 10 second introductory scene with new weapons and resources and then the occasional and similarly brief notification to fill you in on current news. if anything, the story is more reliant on your own actions and systematic occurrences.

i will say though that the one thing i didn't like is the ending. for the whole game, i was getting a tongue in cheek vibe of satirical paranoia with the tone and all the references to terrorism. without spoiling anything, i'll just say that the final mission was dead serious and it felt out of whack because of that.

It is a good game but you must know what you are getting into.

This might edge me closer to the bioshock infinite preorder.

Any interesting upcoming 2k games on the way? I already own Darkness II and Mafia II. Excellent games, highly underappreciated. 

It's not a good game; it's the best game.
