As much as I'd like a continuation of Xeno-whatever, unless Tetsuya Takahashi and Soraya Saga are involved, it's not gonna amount to much. Considering their relationship with Square after Xenogears "failed", and the sales failure of Xenosaga after Episode I (honestly, those that hated Xenosaga so much likely didn't make it to Episode III, which is by far the best part and most similar to Xenogears in every way), they don't seem interested anymore, and both publishers don't seem interested either.
It's a shame, though. Xenosaga Episode III was the last truly great RPG storyline as far as I'm concerned, and that was almost five years ago. No game has surpassed Xenogears in story in over thirteen years, either. Both series were way too ambitious not only for the technology of the time, but for gamer mentality, and likely still are far too much for the vast majority to handle even today. I'm sure at some point in the future someone will attempt something of that magnitude again, and hopefully gamers will have finally gotten sick of their shallow mindless shooters to actually realize how much more depth gaming can achieve if given a chance.
Xenogears finally hitting PSN is a good thing though. A lot of people have wanted to play it but couldn't since it was so rare for a long time. Any interest in the series can only help our chances are something in the future. I'd absolutely love a high-def remake, with BlazBlue quality sprites and redone environments, as well as fixing up the translation a bit, charming as it may seem, but alas...

I know all about that, I know more about Xenogears than one would assume considering I followed both that game and Xenosagas development. Heck I remember when Xenogears was called Project Noah. None the less though I donot like Xenosaga, and I did play and complete all three episodes. They just were meh....the characters were not as endearing as Fei, Elly, or say Bart. I did not care for Shion, Jr or any of the of the other characters as I did in Xenogears. And while Episode 3 is the best one in Xenosaga, it was just that series was drawn out and overly a bore fest.
I thought that Xenosaga took place in Xenogear's future.
Nope its considered a successor not a true successor. There are elements that the games share, but aside from that they are not related cannonically. Things like the Zophar and other such things appear in Xenosaga and Xenogears but aside from that, they are completely unrelated in terms of story.
