[QUOTE="TriangleHard"][QUOTE="AtomicTangerine"][QUOTE="TriangleHard"] I have to disagree with just about all of the choices.
Also there are some glaring lack of Japanese title. Persona 3 not being mentioned is quite shocking as well.

Yeah dude, but that's more a sign of the times. Japan isn't dominating the industry like they used to. That's really a whole other discussion about the reasons why, but aside from Mario, I have not played one Japanese game this year that was totally awesome. Even Contra 4 was handled by an American studio.
And Persona 3 got good reviews, but not GOTY reviews. It does seem like the audience they were going after loved that game though, which is why it has that crazy, cult fanbase already being built up.
considering what was nominated as RPG of the year, I'd say it is quite absurd that Persona 3 wasn't mentioned.
Also I've played plenty of great Japanese games this year for them to not be mentioned. Ninja Gaiden Sigma should've at least been mentioned for action adventure, not freaking Orange Box which can't even be considered as action adventure
Defferentating between games just because of where they come is something from the past. Fully Japanese or fully western games almost don't exist today I advice you check Naughty dogs's or ubisoft's crew.
Persona 3 was underrated and the least disappointing game in 07 while Bioshock and halo3 were voted for most disappointing games in many places including my award show!
It's not the people who made the game that makes the differences.
It's the type of games that are created that matters.
Japanese games and Western games have very different feel to them for most cases. That's why I differenciate them.
I am more of Japanese gamer although I am an American. Japanese games are much more fun to me because it fits my taste. If only games I can play were the games Yahoo nominated, I wouldn't play games at all because they are simply not fun for me
well except for Assassin's Creed.
And how can an expansion pack be nominated for RPG of the year when there are so many high quality RPG titles out this year? That just baffles me.
