No, it's true. If my memory serves me correctly, there's a yoshi doll of some kind of mini-game shop in one of the towns. I don't know how or why I remember this.
That mini-game that was referred too was in Zelda: LA on Gameboy.

I know the LA you refer to is Link's Awakening, but for some reason I had an image of Link dressed like CJ from GTA San Andreas. Note...new idea for LoZ...Zelda is kidnapped by gangsta rappers and Link must travel to Los Angeles to rescue her.
