personally, the best looking fighting game of that era was soul blade imoohthemanateeI agree. I can remember the intro of that game blowing me away.

a good example of what each system did at the time in terms of 3D , would be to look at fight for life on the Jaguar , a 3D fighter which was probably one of the last games released for the system.
Tekken 1 on the PS1 which was the only Tekken at the time (Tekken 2 was a few months away)
and Virtua Fighter 2 on the Saturn , which was also released around that time.
Darkman2007
Going solely by those screenshots, VF2 looks worlds superior with FAR better textures and many more polygons. A larger color pallette as well? Personally, I always felt the PS1 lacked in that regard.

the Saturn did have a richer colour pallete , this was both good and bad.
on a game like VF2, it makes the textures look great, in a game like Resident Evil , it makes the game look more "cartoony" then the PS1 version (for a lack of a better word)
though RE on the Saturn is still a very good version , and not any worse then the PS1 version , its got better textures and better character models then the PS1 version.

[QUOTE="Panzer_Zwei"]There were three SS pads released. The Japanese one is by much the best one. I'm not sure if it the US pad was the same as the Japanese one from launch or if it came out later though, but it defintely ended up being the same than in Japan.
If you're from Europe then it's very likely that you've experienced the smaller controller with the inferior d-pad.
Darkman2007
I do believe Darkman is from Europe so that might explain what you mean. I thought the Saturn pad was quite good, one of the best Dpads out there, so it looks like we did luck out in terms of getting the good DPad.
the controller I use the "model 2" controller , the one thats basically a Japanese controller.
this one, the bulkier controller did make it to Europe too
this is he controller that originally came out in the US and Europe for the Saturn launch , as you can see, a different D-pad and just generally bigger, but these were eventually replaced by the model 2 controller.
I have an NTSC Saturn, and it came with 1st controller.
Had both and played the crap out of my 3DO. Road Rash, Need For Speed, Madden the tons of FMV games and even the AO games. I paid $50 for the OG panasonic 3DO with 15 games back in college around 1996. for my Jaguar all I really rmember is the pack in snow baording game that came with it, I had Alien Vs Predator, Doom and a few other crappy games.
id already have my nes and snes by that time lol so that be sweet if they did buy me a jag or 3d0 because ive only had the nes and snes and played genesis ,
with that said i dont need them as i have the most popular ones already including a genesis which i didnt have at the time it was out
I would've stuck with my SNES, Genesis, and NES forever if that generation was allowed to last forever. I would've been happy never moving onto another generation. But what do you know, they discontinue the systems and quit making games for them. So I have to keep buying new systems generation after generation trying to find that next "NES/Genesis/SNES" experience. The Wii and DS so far are the closest, but not quite the same.
With that said, since I would have to choose one of those two, it would be the 3DO because its games seem more PS1-quality than the Jaguar. It has Street Fighter 2, Road Rash, and a few decent games. But in reality I don't like either of those two.
Having listened to the AVGN prior to being transported to 1993 I would advise my parents to forget about the game system and invest in stocks of a company called Apple.
lol, thats actually pretty funny. AVGN should not be taken seriously, even he himself said so , he intentionally makes things worse then they really are.Having listened to the AVGN prior to being transported to 1993 I would advise my parents to forget about the game system and invest in stocks of a company called Apple.

Yep he tends to do that, and the same way goes for Zero Punctuation, people tend to take that seriously as well.

if I remember correctly, you had a youtube channel , so Im sure you know how many people try to mimic him , right down to their word choices , and its pretty sad. the only difference here is that people will get moderated for speaking like him , but Im sure many people take him overly seriously.[QUOTE="TheTrueMagusX1"][QUOTE="Darkman2007"] lol, thats actually pretty funny. There is one popular youtube user who is a complete rip off of Yahtzee and I donot get why people like him as he is a jerk and rather pompous and a yahtzee ripoff. There are also still alot of AVGN clones, and there is one guy in particular that he himself is one of the biggest ones but he called out the Irate gamer for being a rip off which I still find hillarious at the irony of all that.
And yes people tend to take things seriously. About a year six months ago my friends and I started a parody series called Splay making fun of Xplay, and people took my faux review of Shadow of Collossus seriously. I actually love the game, but I made fun of Xplay in the review by hating the game simply by saying its from Japan, and I got everything from nasty comments to death threats. The joke was so obviosu to as that I used an FFX case and said it was SoTC....

from the one Xplay review I saw on youtube, they are well worthy of parody, they seem to randomly give out scores based on random things.[QUOTE="TheTrueMagusX1"][QUOTE="Darkman2007"] if I remember correctly, you had a youtube channel , so Im sure you know how many people try to mimic him , right down to their word choices , and its pretty sad. the only difference here is that people will get moderated for speaking like him , but Im sure many people take him overly seriously.Darkman2007

While I do respect Adam Sessler, I prefer his online soap box show over Xplay, its people like Morgan Webb who have no idea what they are talking about. Like last summer when she complained that Super Mario Galaxy 2 was not 3D enough? WTF???

not 3D enough? what does that even mean?Thats my point, I donot understand it either....I mean according to her logic, using a 3D mario to go around on a planet a full 3D planet is not 3D enough? Another stupid thing they said was they said New Super Mario Bros Wii was a port of the DS New Super Mario bros, where as they are completely seperate game. Thats why I just cannot take G4 seriously in the least.
