You will be punished if you leave the game early in Black Ops

David Vonderhaar confirmed that treyarch will now keep track of people that do not finish games they start, and will be punished to some extent.

I dont know the exact punishments probably point losses i doubt they will ban you or anything serious...what are your thoughts?

What if you're playing against a cheater? Why should a person be punished for leaving the game on legit grounds?

I'm sure they did this cause too many people join games and then just quit. If they can stop the cheaters, and from the player joining in matches that are very unbalanced, this could work.

what if you search for a game and get joined into a game where your team is getting raped and the other team has all types of killstreaks in the air? that happened all the time in MW2.HipnotiKal

I hated the quitting penalty in Uncharted 2. Especially if I joined a co-op match and people were just screwing around or team-killing. How is that my fault? And sometimes you just have to leave to go do something else - you shouldn't be penalized for it.

What I haven't seen yet is a link backing up this story?

I support the punishment. Leaving a game becauseyour sideis losing is a punk move that merely makes life (and a comeback) for your former team tougher.

I like this system. Quitting a game just because your team is losing is lame. Since it will require multiple disconnections then if you keep getting penalised because of your poor internet connection then you probably shouldn't be playing online until you get better service. Again since it'll require multiple disconnects in a given timeframe then if you have several emergency situations spring-up then it might be best to not be gaming at this time period.

Good, I'm all for it. Ragequitting is infuriating. It was never a HUGE deal in CoD games because the empty spot would usually get filled fairly quick. But it was still lame and if anything encouraged people to quit it they were losing.

In case most people forgot, games like Halo and Gears of War have had penalties for quitting a game early for a long time now. It's about time the CoD games got on board with it.

Like Bungie, I expect them to only punish those who have quit a certain number of times in a certain amount of time.

you would go through the quitting process when u noticed someone choking ??? if you really had to go ? um hide and come back...I do it all the time

Thats harsh. I usually left games on MW2 because I joined half way through or have bad connection in that match. I doubt they'll "punish" anyone

That's so stupid. It would make sense in Burnout Paradise, though. (If you leave during a group challenge, everyone else has to stop the challenge too.)

It's a genius idea if they have a punishment/penalty for people who quit wager matches early, otherwise 5,000,000 people will quit wager matches every time they're losing. I can't believe that anyone would NOT have a punishment/penalty for that.

Good point, with something like wadger matches you pretty much have to have a penalty for quitting early. No one would stick around to the end of one if they were getting trounced. Hope it's something like you lose double the money you bet in the match if you quit early. :lol:
