Sorry, but I´m playing for 20 years and I can´t answer that question....I play just too much.
I could say Super Metroid,Castlevania: SOTN or Final Fantasy Tactics...but I couldn´t say one it better then the other.Grandia is pretty high on my list, but so is ZoE2..
It's Vampire Bloodlines. No other game could let you walk into a nightclub with Lacuna Coil playing, have a make out lesbian session with one of the clientel while having your fill of blood to get your health back, then head out to the next mission. I can't think of another game that let your character have it's own appartment, from which they keep his/her room mate who is despratly trying to do everything she can to please you in the hopes of being turned into a vampire herself. The TV you could watch, and how it would talk to you if you were a Malcavian (the phycic, demented vampires)
But the open mindness of the game wasn't all that appealed, I loved the combat. It was great when you Vampire gets caught out and decides it's time to kill everyone in the room, no witnesses. Moving at in-human speed, fireing your auto-shotgun and blasting everyone away before an empty shell has hit the ground. How melee focused, more anti-social vampires would often lose control of themselves. You'll be fighting a group of goons one moment then all you see is red, when your vision clears you're feasting on there corpses and you get a message saying "Humanity points lost".
It was everything a Roleplaying game should be, and did great justice to it's sourse matieral. Why don't we get more of that? Instead we have another fantasy elf and orc game from Bioware (Dragonage: Origins) I would offer myself and my girlfriend to everyone of their developers if they would make the next Vampire game. Even that guy who looks like a Boomer.
Banjo-Tooie... I never made it past the first area in that game, the world was too big.
Don't like Tooie, don't like nuts and bolts, but I still love the original to death. Replaying it currently on Xbox 360, they did a fantastic job with the graphics update.
