Well, Nintendo seems to be making me confused and contradicting themselves on which direction the series is going. On one hand, Miyamoto is saying the next console Zelda game will be more accessible for casuals, while on the other, Aonuma is claiming he'll never quit until he surpasses Ocarina of Time. So which is it Nintendo? Are they making Zelda for Moms and kids or are they taking the next console Zelda farther than the greatness that Ocarina of Time established? ASK_Story
It better be at least as difficult as Ocarina or Time or Majora's Mask, or for once have difficulty settings. The difficulty in Wind Waker and Twilight Princess was way too low: bokoblins or whatever would just stand there for the longest time before attacking, and even then it was super-easy to evade their attacks. Ridiculous!
No more fetch quests, such as the Triforce shard hunt in Wind Waker.
No repeating bosses, such as in Wind Waker. I don't include Majora's Mask here because beating bosses again was optional.
No items that are made completely useless, such as the slingshot in Twilight Princess.
No time-wasting text when Link comes across low-value rupees. This happened in both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess and made me go nuts.
More kinds of prizes for doing things, other than more rupees.
More things to actually SPEND rupees on so your wallet doesn't sit there, maxed out, forever.
If they're going to keep the swing-sword-to-reflect-energy-ball boss battle type, then it needs to actually vary. It's been done in all the 3D console games except Majora's Mask, and it was done in at least A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening before that. I'm tired of it already, Nintendo! Change it up!
Bring back and keep the magic meter, which was not in Twilight Princess.
If they're going to put in another sidequest like the Poe soul one in Twilight Princess, they better make it so we can turn night to day and day to night.
To make life potions useful, make it so that being revived by a fairy doesn't replenish all your life. A Link to the Past is actually harder if all you carry around are fairies, instead of maybe one or two fairies and some potions.
Vary the traditional, Ganondorf-and-Triforce story.
Vary the dungeon pattern so it's not "collect three things, then collect more things" pattern like it is in at least Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess.
Make the world bigger and don't have any place too empty, like Hyrule Field in Twilight Princess.
Ah, I wonder how much more I could come up with.... I don't know whether I should have high expectations for the next Zelda or not, given how much Wind Waker and Twilight Princess disappointed me (despite them still being good games).
