So,we all grew up playing certain consoles and handhelds, and some of them we have fond memories of.My question for all of you is what is your favorite handheld? Is it a very nostalgic one? Or very recent? Tell me below. My favorite handheld would probably be the Gameboy Advance. To be more specific the SP Model,as it was my first own handheld.Beforehand my brother gave me his original Gameboy, but this was my first very own handheld and it had a vast array of titles for it that were fantastic. It also had backwards compatibility with the Gameboy and Gameboy Color games. There was so much it had to offer. It was overall a fantastic handheld and I have fond memories of playing games on it.Although most handhelds are or were spectacular .But anyways tell me your favorite handhelds guys

Yep, the ol' GBA SP.

Far from being my first handheld. But once you had it, there really was no reason to ever again use any older model of Gameboy.

Still works plenty fine, though the speaker is kinda fucked (still wish it had an earphone jack...).

@Celldrax I believe Nintendo sold this add on type of thing where if you put it in you could use earphones as well,or just use Nintendo earphones(if they're still there)

Favorite handheld ever was Gameboy advance, before the sp. I have the most memories with that one playing super Mario world, a link to the past, and Pokémon sapphire/firered

I also enjoyed my sony psp, only for one game though. Playing pes07 on the go was amazing.

Based on software and games. The 3ds wins by far. What an amazing lineup.

I hate the ds, because of the controls.

I love my VITA, got it for Christmas and being able to play old PS1 classics I used to love like Spyro is amazing. Not to mention the ratchet and clank games 1-3 available on one cartridge. And the vita slim feels amazing.

@killerk1ng How is the Vita? I've always thought of picking it up(and a PSP sometime in the future) Also is the Slim or Regular better in your opinion?

@SilverBlade1805: The vita is awesome.. If your a fan of RPG especially Japanese RPG games then its worth getting it for that alone, Its worth saying I'm not a fan of these though, but I've heard there is a great selection. You should do some research into the games library for the VITA first and make sure theres a nice selection of games you'll play. Its perfect for me because I can play minecraft, ratchet and clank, spyro (my favourite) and killzone (cod for vita). There is no hardware difference between the slim and the standard vita. They both are just as fast as each other. The only differences are the screen, yes the old vita has a much cleaerer OLED displace whereas the vita Slim has an LCD, but it doesn't matter. If you haven't previously owned the OLED then you have nothing to compare it to, and honestly, it looks crisp and bright, and I like it. Also I think the sound may be a little better. Not to mention (i forgot) the Slim comes with 1GB of internal memory, which allows you to save games and play straight off the back with it, which is awesome. My recommendation? Get the slim. Its super nice and crisp, feels light weight and looks lovely.

Vita. Its fast and I got to play Persona 4 golden which I loved.

Remote play is a cool feature also. Also having ps plus, it's nice to having the option to playing the monthly games.

In spire of the fact that it could eat 6 AA batteries in four hours, I really dug the Atari Lynx back in the day.

These days, my 3DS and Vita make me pretty happy.

GBA SP. It has a great library, and its BC makes it so that you never need to carry any of your other Game Boys.

DS lite. Amazing library. Comfortable. Streamlined design. GBA compatability.

DS games are stretched on the OG 3DS, not sure about the 3DSXL. 3DS does have some good gbc games for download and 10 gba.

Got to go with the 3DS XL. It plays both DS and 3DS games natively and with the Virtual Console system it can play a whole bunch of other games from a wide variety of systems.

3DS XL. Its a DS/3DS in one. The 3DS is killing it with games imo. I prefer them over the DS's lineup. I grew up on GDC and GBA, but they're still behind the 3DS imo.

The Vita as far as hardware and its layout goes. Now...Just need a few more games. Kiillzone, Uncharted, Unit 19, GoW are fantastic games, but should be able to do so much more. Front and rear touch combined with OLED (on the orig) and dual analog stick. Add in some remote play for the PS4...Doesn't get any better.

PSP Go: It's compact, has a sharp, vibrant screen, delightfully clicky buttons, 16GB built in, solid battery life, built-in save states (you could actually play until the battery died because it would suspend the game until you recharged it), etc. and on top of all that it had some of my favorite games last gen including my most played game ever. The Vita hasn't quite lived up to it yet though it's still proven to be a fantastic device and it may eventually get there (the PSP Go was released at the end of the PSP's life).

Gameboy Advance SP without a doubt. Being able to play Gameboy, GB Color, and Gameboy Advanced carts all in a package that actually had a light up screen. Pure gaming Nirvana.

Honorable mention to the DS, and the Sega Game Gear. Both great systems in their own right.

Also the Vita deserves some respect. It could have been such a killer system if Sony had just loved it, had nurtured it, and hadn't decided that it's main selling point was as a PS4 accessory.
