Your favorite "Game Over" screen?

When I was younger, it was the PSX era but I kept playing Super Mario Brothers for the NES and kept on dying in World 2. :P I died so many times, it's game over screen became memorable for me!

Also, I know this one was used in a FF parody, but it just looks so damn funny! :lol:

I'm a fan of the cIassic RE titles' game over screens. Apparently GS is too considering that the "this user has been banned" pages used to be modeled after the RE game over screen.

Mortal Kombat 4 had a good 'continue?' screen where your character falls down a pit during the countdown. If you don't choose anything he lands on a bed of spikes.

Ridge racer PSX

Glad to see Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid mentioned. I always thought Goldeneye had a pretty good "game over" sequence. Mario 64 was pretty good with the bowser laugh and "Xs" over marios eyes. One that most people probably won't agree with me is Wave Race 64. The announcer on that game--he'd just get this tone in his voice when you lost--as if your mom or dad was calling you a complete failure. Best announcer ever.

...oh, and ninja gaiden.

I don't really like any of them, because seeing them means I failed/got my ass kicked, and I get pissed when I fail/get my ass kicked in a video game. :x

I dunno why, but it freaks me out whenever I see Blanka's eye's popping out his head. his expression gave me nightmares, and the simple game over didn't help much. Red flashing, dying grunt, and fading grey. -_-'

Not my favorite game over, but the most memorable. My favorite game over has to be Castlevania's little game over jingle, and the SotN game over.

I'd have to go with Persona 3's game over screen.

I like hearing the Half-Life 2 death screen. It's cool to hear your suit flat line you. :P

Probably the classic Resident Evil ones. Dead Space was also a really surprising one. You step on a high-powered fan, and boom, your guts splatter all over the ceiling, or a necromorph kills you, and you die. Blood goes every where, and Game Over. I hate the Metal Gear ones, those have to be the most annoying.

I would say Arkham Asylum, but the fact is that any game over screen is more annoying than anything else.
