There are a few recent medicore to bad games that I really enjoyed
1.) Fuel (PS3) - While this was not the most polished racer, I felt the game was fun offline if you got into it. There was enough depth and a ton of content to keep you playing and the gameplay was fun. it was an an interesting game that I think was trying to go with over the top action but fell somewhere in between a an arcade and simiulation racer. You could not just hit turns are full speed during races, you had to use proper turning mechanics and racing inside corners on tracks was a must.
2.) Splatterhouse (PS3) - Yes the game was unpolished, there were some annoying issues with core gameplay, long load times, touchy control issues during 2D levels, and the levels at times got repetitve. But it was actually a fun game to play through and I actaully went back to play through on the hard difficulty. It had a trowback feel to it, a certian sense of art and if you didn't expect to much from it, the game delivered a fun experience.
3.) Sniper Ghost Warrior (PS3) - I know the reviews for this game were pretty low, but the overall gameplay was not bad. The game was far from broken, and it actaully portrayed the Sniper gameplay pretty good. On the higher difficulty, the AI was ridiculous, but on the normal and easy settings, the game was fine. The AI still had a knack for being insanely accurate at very far difference, but once you got used to this, the game was not too hard.
I picked both Sniper Ghost Warrior and Fuel for 14.99, pretty cheap and it was not wasted money. Splatterhouse I paid full price for, so I expected more from that title, but I was not disappointed at the end of the day with that purchase
