Even though I'm a huge fan of FFVII even though I never had a chance to play it because I was about 4 and had no clue what it was, but I would have to say Kingdom Hearts 2 because you could free roam partially, it has a good fighting style, and I got addicted to the story, and it has all the Disney characters we all know and love, and some that really aren't Disney *Cough* Like the gang from FFVII*Cough* so it is an all around game that I found really entertaining. So ya Kingdom Hearts 2!
Xenogears, best story, best combat system, best art, best music, best world, best characters. Nuff said. Now I think when Im done with Persona 3 ill go back and play Xenogears for the millionith time.acidBURN1942I saw Xenogears when i wanted to buy my Mana Khemia game but never bother to stop and have a look. But then after read ur post may be after i finish my game i will buy it. Hope it really interesting game.
I can never pick just one.
Fallout/Fallout 2 for the black humor, the choices, and the ability to shoot someone in the eyes from 30 feet away.
Planescape Torment for proving that videogame writing doesn't have to be on par with an Archie comic.
Chrono Trigger for cutting out the fat of random battles and trimming the plodding narrative from the JRPG beast.
Ultima VII for giving you a remarkable world to be an absolute jerk in, and for letting you feed used baby diapers to your party members.
My favourite JRPG is Chrono Cross. I loved the huge cast of playable characters and trying to get them all was pretty fun. I also loved the different paths you could take in the New Game+ mode.
My favourite WRPG is Mass Effect. Superb writing, a very engrossing story, and the voice acting was very well done. I also loved the combat in the game and travelling the galaxy is just a really cool thing to do.
There are so many good ones out there. For single player games I'll go with Planescape: Torment, Ultima VII: The Black Gate, Anachronox, Fallout, and Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Ahm.
The only MMORPG that makes my list is Guild Wars. World of Warcraft is fun but it is so repeative.
hmmmm. *thinks for a moment*
I'd have to say... Illusion of Gaia. Illusion of Gaia & Breath of Fire. the best games of all time in my opinion. although... Final Fantasy is pretty high up there for top spot. lol.
Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals for Super Nintendo. It eats Chrono Trigger for breakfast and leaves Earthbound in the toilet in the evening (and this is coming from someone who loves both of those games).famicommander
I think eating chrono trigger for breakfast is a bit of an overstatement, but lufia 2 is certainly an awesome game

Agreed! I love all the PC RPGs and you never hear anyone mention Anachronox.
Also, have to mention Super Mario RPG. Timed attack/defense AND no random battles.
Both Anachronox and SMRPG have a lot of humor involved in them as well.
I don't. I own them both, complete in their original packaging. I've spent over 1000 hours on each game and have experienced everything that both titles have to offer. In my opinion, Lufia II is superior in every imaginable way.I think eating chrono trigger for breakfast is a bit of an overstatement,
