Why not start us off? I'm sure if you elaborate on what would make for your ideal "perfect game" then you will get some really good feedback.
ok then
my perfect game would have to be a free roaming game because im a big gta fan. i would probably if possible like to add many different continents to the game and make it as big as possible. i would try to add as many weapons as the world makes (any where from handguns to weed whackers haha) i would make you character fully customizable. and many different vehicle choices!
but to be honest i think rockstar is doing a great enough job with upcoming GTA IV so i couldnt really make a game like it without it being much diff.
but that would be my perfect game (which is basically GTA IV lol)
I'd hit it.It's made of a pyramid. A pyramid built with gold made of women.
That's right, gold made of women.
SharinganEye
Oblivion MMO-Style, about 6 times bigger, with wilderness areas like Runescape's, more cities and more arenas. Also have online party options, WoW style. More trades (Be an estate agent!!) More races, a bio, family, relationships (Wink Wink!!) bigger cities and more population in the cities, peristent real time warfare between NPC's including characters, a political system, player conflict, better fame/infamy system, sea battle and exploration, list goes on...

FlaminDeath
It would be a game I would be willing to play for the remaining of my life and wouldn't want to even consider other games.
Normal RPG ---- Best MMO ---- Perfect game
I think the gap between best MMO and Perfect game is bigger than the gap between normal RPG and best MMO.
There would definitely be a need for multiplayers, but no PvP, no direct dirty consequences. No activity would require more than 8 players togethers, and solo players would have access to 75% of everything...or more...yet, maybe there is a 25% items slots which would require you to group other peoples...or a smaller %. Nothing to get a soloer angry, it would be at the point where he is starting to be bored with soloing anyway...and since the game has to be able to last ME a lifetime, I doubt even 1% of the soloers would hit that "wall" ever. :P I mean, I am a bad bad achiever, not the worst, but definitely in the worst family of achievers! The worst achiever is possibly AIDS, then I would prolly be the Black Death or something like that! :P Not as bad, as achieving...but still way enought so that most soloers, except the worst hardcores ones, wouldn't experience this "wall" ever.

SharinganEye
LOL x4 @ that
Also, the Pharaoh inside the pyramid is made of ostrich cheese.
mine would be a game like TES4 Oblivion except the world is 10 times bigger, more monsters, better AI, when an enemy is weak you can chop off their limbs, realistic movement, different weapon designs, so pretty much TES5 would satisfy me for about at least a year.
I don't know about perfect. But a large scale multiplayer objective type game with the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device as a usable weapon would be wicked. Imagine you are about to capture the enemy flag when, whoopsey doodle, you step into a portal and wind up shooting out of a cliff face 150ft in the air. Obviously not everyone in the game would have the portal gun. only a few members of each team.... and they would have ONLY the portal gun...... I dunno. i still have some balance issues to work out in my head.Private_Vegas
Brilliant. I think that Portal was just a test run for that technology and we will definitely see a true FPS game with portal gun as a key mechanic.
I have been working on a game inside my head for a long time now, 6 years. It is an epic game idea with a heart-breaking, emotionally moving story, lively characters, deadly consequences....
What, you want me to share my epic idea with you?! HA! Yeah right! Go make up your own!
A first person view of life game. Sort of like The Sims but in first person view. Like you can pick your job and you have to drive to work and stuff. Awesome.JC346
Or I could go get a job in real life, and drive to work in real life, all in first person view for free.
My ideal game would be a sci-fi, turn based/real-time game that would combine gameplay elements from XCOM:UFO Defense and Company of Heroes in an isometric perspective. Basically I would like to see XCOM updated with today's hardware capabilities. Having to go and explore alien crash sites, research technology, build and maintain bases, etc. The combat would be extremely similar to XCOM's. There would be physics for everything, all would be destructible, and different technologies would affect the map and combat accordingly. It would have great atmosphere and dynamic lighting, would be fully customizable, and there would be vehicle combat as well, all set to a suspenseful soundtrack.
Combat would entail moving your small squad one member at a time (in any order desired) in various environments, and would be limited by action points to either move or complete an action, or a combination of both (as other games have done). Each member would be unique in their capabilities and personality traits, which would also factor into the combat. If they see anything, they immediately halt and await further instruction, and preset orders can be set ahead of time in case they come under fire, etc.
I don't know how many people on this site have ever played XCOM:UFO Defense as it came out in the DOS days of gaming, but my dream game would be a sequel to it including the features above combined with the gaming power available today. I would die a happy gamer if a game like this ever came out and was very well done.
Oh, this is easy. A remake of Final Fantasy VII for the PS3.
Either that or Metal Gear Solid 5: Will He Ever Die?
a game thats exactly like real life...exactly...photorealistic and everyything...including boring stuff.....
I can start a second life and do w/e i want.....rob, pillage, kill, kick babies...andsuffer consequences that would actually be fun...jail escapes, shootouts...
I know I can't think of a perfect game, seriously. How many perfect games are out there?
It takes too much creativity to make a masterpiece.

But well, a total life simulator would be interesting...
Here's what I can think of:
Good Strategy and Intelligent AI from Metal Gear Solid 3
Collision sound effects and intense gameplay from God of War 2 and Gears of War
Extremely wide and accessible environments and extra missions from Gran Theft Auto
Character-Creation/ Customization from WWE Smackdown vs. Raw
Deep Story, character-level-up and acquisition of many different sets of items from Final Fantasy
Weapon-level-up from Dynasty Warriors and Vagrant Story
Slow-motion in certain parts of cutscenes like in RE4
Excellent graphics like that of Crysis
Investigations in certain parts of the game like that of CSI
Ability to command certain allies
Online Mode, Multiplayer Mode, Rankings, Statistics, Journal
Pretty much a game as close to reality as possible and by that I mean, the ability to do pretty much everything in The Sims 2 as well as in, let's say, Splinter Cell. Well, surely, it won't have a linear storyline but it would be nice to see how the game responds to every decision taken.
The perfect game for me would be an Rpg, with some fantasy/ midevil (Swords bows etc.) , modern (Planes, explosives etc.) and futuristic elements (like virtual reality systems and other stuff along the lines of that.). You would get to play as each character through a storyline in either 3rd or 1st person, and the battles would be either real time or turn based, it would have all the options in the main menu. The Ai intelligence would be amazing, it would be completely glitch free, and you would be pretty much be free to roam around the land. The story would be from the start, and ell you things from the past instead of jumping you off right in the middle of whatever the conflict is. You could command your soldiers or teammates to do things, and everything would be able to break unless it was some huge towers that you have to go into. (There would be cheats to knock down those) Voice actors would be excellent, and there would be millions of customizable vehicles, people, weapons, areas, and signature moves where the camera zooms in and shows your characters awesome skills. And of course a multiplayer where you could either plpay storyline, or battle in a huge arena with over 80 people, but you could edit how many people come to each game.
