Your most "beautiful" games

What games do you feel are the most beautiful?

For me Shadow of the Colossus is tops. I can rememeber times I didn't even fight them, I just rode around and gazed at the scenery.

Prince of Persia (2008 ), Endless Ocean, and Oblivionare also beautiful.

It takes more than just pretty graphics, it also requires (for me) size and scale sort of a grandness or "epicness", as well as sound/music. Wind in Shadowof the Colossus, music of Endless Ocean, colors of Prince of Persia, scale of Shadow of the Colossus.

So what games for you are beautiful and why?

this is super easy this is def Far Cry 2 that is the best scenery ever even if u dont like african look its also located in the rain forest areas i love taht game sooooo fun taht game is perfect u can make ur maps most underated games of all time

The most beautiful games for me are in no particular order.....

Oblivion. There is always something new to find, and it just feels like an epic game.

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. I love the artstyle, music... just everything about this game is beautiful.

Advent Rising. Again, great scenery/locations and an awesome, rousing orchestral score really make this game feel epic.

Halo 2. Halo 2 in particular because of the Delta Halo stage. Damn, that is sooooo pretty.

and Left 4 Dead.

Depends on what you mean by beautiful, but anywho, Okami, Metroid Prime, RE4 & God of War.

Say what you will, but Crysis is beautiful to me. I would also go with WOW, and Mirror's Edge.

Fallout 3 is beautiful in an eerie way. I love The Wasteland.

World of Goo was absolutely beautiful. de Blob was also very artistic, but in a different way. I; it was like watching a living painting.

I found Prince of Persia: Sands of Time to be beautiful looking and very whimsical. Its what I would go with for the traditional answer to this question.

But in a different aspect, I thought Braid was beautiful...not because of the graphics, just the imagry and thought behind it. It felt like the whole game was a labor of love, and I found it to be beautiful.

certain parts of Fable II were very beautiful. The Mystic Artes IMO is a big reason Tales of Vesperia was so beautiful. FFX and Crisis Core for the PSP and Valkyrie Profile 2 were nice too.

The game that has wowed me most visually is God of War, but in general I can think of no better overall artistry than Halo.NBSRDan

Shadow of the Colossus and Okami like mentioned before.Also Braid, Morrowind, Oblivion, Vagrant Story, Ico (same team as SoTC), Final Fantasy VI and many others that I'm failing to mention. A game doesn't only have to have realistic graphics to be considerd a "beautiful" game.The style in the graphics, the music and just the way the game is made by creating a unique atmosphere makes a game truly "beautiful".

For me my most "beautiful" game is Gears of War 2. It's the most visually stunning game I've played to date and the sound, especially the weapons and effects, are fantastic. Right now Lost Planet 2 might top it for me.

Metroid Prime gives you one of the most epic feelings you'll ever get from a game, especially in Tallon Overworld, when it's raining, and splashing against the visor. Also in Phendrana Drifts. I'd also say that Metroid Prime has the most fitting, beautiful music as well.

I agree with OP--Shadow of the Colossus is very nice.

My vote goes to Bioshock. Art Deco design is simply beautiful. Although, I'm studying architecture so my opinion may be somewhat biased.

On second thought...SotC has some beautiful architecture as well!

Okami or Heavenly Sword, both really pulled me in with its art style.

By far Flower, Ico and Eternal Sonata for me.

All three of these games simply had me speechless in how beautiful they were.

Oh yes i forgot to mention Mirrors Edge, talk about stunning.

Actually, Indigo Prophecy was also beautiful in its simplicity--all you need are the two analog sticks to play the entire game. It's pretty clever, although, the story could've used a bit of help.

Braid, Okami, Shadow of the Colossus, Ico, Rez, Katamari Damacy, Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and Prince of Persia are just some of the most beautiful games ever released.

I did not post any photorealstic games because I think that photorealism has been pretty unoriginal and so overused, for the most part. I used to like it a lot, but now I am more interested in cel-shaded animation and abstract-looking games. They represent the best forms of artistically creative graphics.

The graphics are dated now, but at the time I thought Chrono Cross was very beautiful. I used to just sit there in the tropical villages and chill out with the music. I would also put myself on the world map in another world and drift off into sleep from time to time.
